Be aware that the positive reviews for this restaurant might be FAKE. Our experience was very disappointing. We were so excited to go to this place relying on the positive reviews and nice photos. Letâs start with the food â the grilled fish in the sushi had a terrible texture: dry, rubbery, and overcooked. It almost felt like youâre chewing on paper. Iâm not kidding when I tell you that the sushi was much WORSE than Publix sushi. Compared to this place, Publix sushi is a luxury food. Almost every single item we got from the all-you-can-eat menu was so disgusting, I was considering spitting out the food while I was chewing. Additionally, and most importantly, the quality overall was inconsistent. We had to reorder the ONLY sushi set that we actually liked from the menu, but when we got a second order of the same item, it came out burnt. It genuinely seemed like the chefs in the kitchen are only learning how to cook and testing this on their clients.
When we politely raised our concerns, the manager, instead of trying to talk to us and at least TRY to address the issue, sent us a âcomplimentâ which was actually the dessert that WE ALREADY ORDERED from our all-you-can-eat menu. Just instead of 1 piece (like listed on the menu), they sent us two pieces (which we could easily order ourselves since itâs all-you-can-eat)⊠It felt like they didnât care much about our experience. We got to talk to the manager only after asking to talk to her. We genuinely wanted to help this place improve â it has so much potential: very beautiful interior and location, nice chairs and tables. Everything but the food and the managerâs response (which wasnât satisfactory for us as customers at all, and very unprofessional) was nice.
We ended up paying the whole price for this (not gonna lie, the WORST experience I had in Florida), and we left around $50 each just to leave hungry. The server was really sweet though, and genuinely tried to help us order the least disgusting items on the menu. We left him a good tip and left.
Go there if you want to leave hungry, disappointed, and waste...
Read moreSummary: I wish the advertising presented it accurately as Brazilian-Fusion Sushi is quite different than Japanese cuisine. All the positive reviews are posted at the same time in increments. It seems odd. They also got to take over reviews from the grilled cheese place that was there previously. $120 (including tip) for two felt like too much for the experience. Although the food was not horrible, it was not high-quality. Small portion sizes, misrepresented cuisine, and too-casual service brought the experience down.
Pros: all you can eat style, BOGO happy hour offers on certain weekdays, the food is decent
Cons: first and foremost, this is NOT Japanese sushi. I was excited for an all-you-can-eat style sushi restaurant on this side of townâŠ.But this is not the restaurant that will give me that fix. This is Brazilian-fusion sushi. If youâve had that cuisine you know what I mean. The menu contains a large variety of non-traditional fusion items including rolls with truffle oil, arugula, Doritos, and wrapped in fried egg roll wraps. The rolls are served in four pieces and the pieces are very tiny, mostly rice and cream cheese. Everything has cream cheese. I questioned if I even got salmon in the roll I ordered with salmon and shrimp. The fried rice advertised eggs, but it came out as just brown rice and frozen veggies with no eggs. The service was alright. Our server was pleasant but the vibe of the kitchen was odd. The prep area is open to the dining area and servers and cooks etc all gathered there to talk and joke and laugh loudly. I love to see camaraderie in a team but as we were sat so close to the bar it started to feel unprofessional especially considering the attempt to create an upscale interior.
This wonât be on my list to return to for Japanese cuisine unfortunately. I donât predict it...
Read moreThe food that we chose was really a joke. I knew I should have walked out when I saw it was an all you can eat sushi spot. I wanted just a small dinner, so we ordered a la carte. I realized after we sat that there are hardly any normal or traditional sushi rolls. Okay, fine, I have been to places with fun and fusion rolls topped with tropical fruits and hot sauce. Itâs just a shift of expectations, but those can be very tasty, too. I got the sashimi, which was truly bad. Like Iâve had cheap take out and cold, hard grocery store sushi many times, and this really was bad sashimi. Although we paid so much for these low quality dishes, I didnât dare finish the tuna, which had a fishy flavor and bad aftertaste. The plain salmon roll was edible, but really not good. The rice at this place is the wrong grain and is not prepared sushi rice (not seasoned). It also felt old, like reheated rice from two days ago. I got Mac n cheese and chicken off the kids menu. It was expensive and inedible. The kids didnât like it (and they tend to eat even adventurous foods). I also hate wasting food, so I tried to taste both of those, and also couldnât eat it. The servers were totally fine and were friendly. The restaurant looks nice and had comfortable chairs. But itâs basically a fake place. I would highly discourage eating there. If you really just want lots of food, go eat someplace cheap and delicious. If you want great food, go find someplace even a little fancy, and youâll have a much better time. Nothing could make me eat that again. And thatâs saying a lot. A dive bar has better food than this. In fact, walk on over to Gator Dockside for a gourmet meal compared to this.
TL;DR - low quality trash food, expensive $100 on two adults eating a light meal + 2 kids meals,...
