Jumbo Sushi — Restaurant in Florida

poor service & bland food -- could have ended up finished our evening with a visit to the hospital!!!

Wait staff took forever just to get our drink order placed and set down on the table.

On our first (and only) visit to this establishment, I ordered a simple udon for myself, and my fiance. The udon ended up being noodles in broth with an assortment of vegetables(broccoli, etc). We asked if we'd been given the wrong sort, as there is a vegetable udon on the menu, and were assured that we weren't. My fiance is deathly allergic to mushrooms. We asked the waitress if the vegetable medley included mushrooms, to which she said no, and walked away. We were not convinced that this was true, as she seemed really uncertain when answering the inquiry. (It goes without saying that wait staff should ALWAYS be familiar with their menu. If they are not, they should speak with the chef/cook about the dishes when allergies are brought up.) At this point in time, we both began to dig through the noodles, making sure that there were not any mushrooms in the dish. My fiance ended up plucking a large sliver of mushroom out of their bowl. We then proceeded to try and call our waitress back to the table, multiple times, but she did not notice us. Another waitress ended up coming over to our table and handling the situation. The second waitress took my fiance's udon back to the kitchen, and arranged to have another one made with only noodles and broth. A friend had brought us to the restaurant for dinner, so we were trying really hard to give this place a chance. If it had only been the two of us, I wouldn't have bothered to re-order the food.

Both of our meals were bland. I ate my meal as-is, since I didn't mind the vegetables. It was as though the vegetables were thrown in from a frozen vegetable medley bag. Not fresh at all.

Needless to say, we will never be visiting this...

My family and I come here maybe once a month and it's a random luck of the draw who actually comes: it could be me by myself, it could be me and my son, me and my daughter or the whole family. We enjoy a wide variety of items off the menu and have yet to be dissapointed.

Their house salad is the bomb, their lunch specials are amazing! And their Sushi tastes very good to me. The staff is nice pleasant to talk to but they do have limited English ability with some of them. In NO WAY should this be considered. The "rude" attitude by the standards of some of these other review posters I would hazard a guess to them is the lack of perfect English speaking ability, which should never even enter the equation.

We have yet to be addressed with anything less then respect and courtesy with the location and staff. To the reviewers that left horrid reviews I suggest you stop and ask yourself if you treat others as good as you think you do... just based on what you...

I have been to Jumbo Sushi a total of 10 times now, with my first 9 trips being pretty great. However, I ate there last night and I will NOT be returning. I ordered a different sushi roll than normal, per the suggestion of the server. Once it arrived I knew immediately I wasn't going to like it because it was served hot. I'm not a fan of hot sushi.

I informed the server of the situation, she told me to jus try one... I did... I didn't like it. I asked if there was something I could have in it's place to which I was told, "No, but that I could take home what I didn't like and give it to a friend." I didn't eat another piece of that roll and I was charged for the roll, which was a specialty roll.. $13.25. I asked to speak to management and was told no manager was there. How disappointing.
