I’ve gone to Mary’s a lot and I’m honestly really disappointed to say how one conversation with a worker has made me decide to no longer attend this salon. Yesterday I came in to get a full set and my friend just wanted a fill. I immediately knew it was weird when my nails came out $10 cheaper than hers. Getting a fill was $80 which is absolutely outrageous. We checked the online prices which says $35 for an acrylic fill. My friend is young and didn’t want to “cause trouble” so I called for her asking where this extra $45 comes in. She proceeds to tell me because of she change of shape she requested, (this did not happen the man who did her nails changed the shape to something she didn’t want) because the polish is gel a fill immediately moves up to $50. I mentioned how she only wanted a fill she did not ask for the change of shape so where did the other $30 come in. It was a very back and forth conversation and eventually came down to $50 for the gel polish and $30 for the design. Might I also mention the man doing her nails didn’t give her the option to choose between gel polish and regular polish. Was extremely rough on her nails and was super careless throughout the entire process. WHICH CAN BE SUPER DAMAGING. I have been coming to this nail salon for many years. I always get a pedicure and acrylic nails done but the last few times my acrylic nails have not been up to par. I went for my birthday to get my nails done and a new guy did my nails and within, two days they were already popping off. The acrylic was extremely thin and I went to get them redone, the same guy was put on to redo my acrylics again and replaced my nails. Halfway through fixing my nails he was told to stop fixing them and the someone else took over because he didn’t know what he was doing. By the time that someone took over, he had already put on the new nails and all the acrylic over the original acrylic that was on my nails, so it was still put on wrong, but it was not fixed. So now I am only a few days out from getting my nails done and the same nail that was just replaced has already popped off. I’m super disappointed, especially because I had to pay $90 Originally for my nails, and then I had to drive an hour and a half back to the salon and miss work to get the nails redone four days after getting them done. Three first pictures are two days after getting my nails done the first time. Last two photos are from three days after getting my nails done the second time where my nail had already cracked on the same hand because the acrylic was not connected to my nail, the last photo is where it had broken...

Update: After years of loyal service, I got billed $135.30 for a basic Pedicure with gel nails. I called the owner and explained that I never paid that much for even more deluxe packages and she (Mary) tried to explain how the charges were correct. They weren't. I was overcharged and won't be back!

So far this is the best nail salon I have used. I haven't tried them all but I have tried many great salon's and Mary's has the hours and the staff and equipment and all the right combination. I will update. I go weekly and this is my 4th visit.

Update: After months of weekly Saturday pedicures...they are slipping a bit. Color selection is always the same... Still great staff that work hard. Equipment is also good. Some areas that I am used to them taking care of are not being addressed. Some is laziness.( My nails don't grow hardly between weekly visits) Some has to do with hours and being the last customer is never the best. I work 6 days and have no choice. Sometimes the hardest thing as an owner is to turn away a customer if certain areas will be skipped, All business owners experience this. I always tip $15 to $20 on a $60 pedicure. If it were my shop I would stay late by 15 min or again, make that difficult choice to reject the customer due to a lack of time. They try. Still one of my favorites by far.
