I am in my second year of Pilates with Olesya as my instructor. I am also approaching my 83rd birthday. Although I am in very good health for my age, I was beginning to lose physical flexibility and experience joint pain and tiredness, and simple, daily physical tasks, such as getting in and out of my automobile, were becoming difficult and sometimes painful.
I was referred to Olesya by a doctor friend, an orthopedic surgeon, and when I first met her and discussed Pilates it was clear she is very knowledgeable about Pilates and was able to explain its purpose and benefits. Olesya has a quick smile, a fun sense of humor and pleasant demeanor. When she instructs you to do a certain Pilates exercise, she gives the reason for it and explains the expected benefit. Her dedication to a healthy life and physical conditioning for herself provide an excellent example to follow.

Read moreI have worked with Olesya for almost 2 years and she has helped me gain strength, build muscle, and target areas to mobilize based on my troublesome lower back. She has also taught me to focus on my breathing (both while working out and in everyday life), which helps me to maintain a more calm and restorative state. Olesya is very knowledgeable about the practice of Pilates and is creative when it comes to working around a physical problem (I.e., my lower back). One of Olesya’s great strengths is her ability to listen to what your body needs / how you are feeling and customize a workout just for you. Every session is different based on what you need that day. She also has studied with different physical therapists, so she truly understands the interconnectedness of the human body - muscles, joints, organs, etc.
There is not a one-size-fits-all approach with Olesya, which I very much appreciate. I have had other Pilates instructors and I can say that one thing that sets Olesya apart is her ability to listen to her clients and approach each session...
Read moreI’m new to Pilates having started just a couple months ago with Olesya inperson in Houston for private lessons. The impact on my body and how I feel has been remarkable. I’m definitely a convert and will do Pilates for the rest of my life. The most surprising thing to me was that when I planned to be away for three months this summer I told Olesya that, sadly, I wouldn’t see her until October. She suggested doing virtual lessons; at first I rejected it. It just wouldn’t be the same; but then I tried it and I have done it twice a week since I’ve been away and it has been fantastic.
