Horrible, horrible, horrible. The single worst company of any kind that I have ever dealt with. I have shipped cars without a problem for years. This company offered what seemed to be a better price. I gave them a 2 week window to pick up and ship a car 126 miles. We were selling our house and the car HAD to be out. They took a deposit and after getting assurances from them of there being "no problem" they stopped returning phone calls and e mails. Absolutely no replies for days.
Running out of time I wound up calling another service which picked up the car (which was not running) in 90 minutes and delivered the car that night. No problem. They charged 100$ more and were completely worth it. Avoid this company. Poorly run. It appears that they take orders for jobs before they know whether they can actually do the job. Avoid, avoid under any and all circumstances.
As many of the reviews below mention, they do not return phone calls or e mails for days. They lie when they talk to you as if you are a moron. Completely unreliable. Every bad review below includes one or more things that happened to me. It took one week, several e mails and a call from our credit card company to reverse the down payment charge which they said they would do on their own "right away". Judging by the reviews below, this company will post some absurd reply to this review. I am a litigator by trade but can objectively say they have NO case. The single worst experience I have ever had with a business. I was treated like garbage, ignored and without the assistance of my credit card company would likely be suing these incompetents. Their reply will invariably be setting forth "facts" which are not and never were.
The car was available for pick up for two weeks. It was on the street in a cul de sac accessible to any/all of your trucks. Had you bothered to read any e mail or returned a call you would know that. Would you like me to publish all of the e mails to you demonstrating (as predicted) your fabrication of the facts? One of your competitors came in under 90 minutes after my initial call to them and transported the car the 126 miles THAT DAY. Your company had 2 weeks to do the job and when it realized it could not, simply stopped returning calls and e mails. Were that not the case I would not waste my time responding to your false response below. Readers take note that that this company can not own up to its own incompetence and seeks to blame the customer for its own failings.
They have 100 competitors. I have used 4 of them without incident. I made a big mistake in an effort to save $100- don't make the same mistake. Clearly you are a broker and were unable to make a deal with a driver and rather than admit it, you left us hanging. You did not refund the AMEX charge after my written request that you do so. Rather you cancelled it AFTER AMEX contacted you informing you that you were not getting paid. You issued the refund on 8/17 while the request for a refund was made more than one week earlier in writing. The car was transported on 8/10 and my request for my refund pre-dated 8/10 by days. Failing to receive notice of refund we contacted AMEX and the refund came 4:23PM 8/17 from your office in Houston subsequent to your being contacted by AMEX at our request.
Your business practices are horrendous and this comes from a person who is cynical by birth, training and experience. No business large or small that I have ever dealt with in my personal or professional capacity has been worse than yours. TWO weeks to transport a car 126 miles and you couldn't pull it off so you blame the customer. Look in the mirror.
Reading the balance of the reviews and your replies, it is clear that your company never admits to making a mistake - ever. Amazing PR them you have going - "Blame the Customer because we are perfect".
Why/when/how and under what circumstances would I "refuse to release the car"?. Did one of your trucks show up at the pick up site on any of the 13 days the car was ready...
Read moreMoving from California to Texas proved to be quite a headache. One of the smoother experiences, though, was when I dealt with Fast Motion Auto Transport.
I initially contacted them via their website on the chat program, asking a few basic questions of the faceless person on the other end of the chat. When my questions began to get more specific in nature, the faceless person on the other end of the chat urged me to call him, I did, and was introduced to the affable and efficient David Mena. David patiently answered all my questions, was able to narrow down a solid time frame for pick up and delivery and, most importantly, gave me a quote that seemed more than reasonable. No way I thought I'd get our car from San Francisco to Texas for less than a thousand dollars, but we did it at the cost of $995 ($195 up front, then $800 in cash to the driver.)
After the pickup window was set, I was told to wait for further instructions as to the specifics. As the date approached I contacted David via phone to find out when I might expect to hear a specific time for pickup. I left a message, and not a half hour later I received a phone call from the truck driver, Serge, who provided me a date, time, as well as his cell number. He urged me to text or call if I had any questions.
The only snafu, if you could even call it that, was that due to the nature of where I lived the truck driver was unable to pick up my car in front of my house. The San Francisco streets are just too narrow for a truck of that size to navigate. It was a reasonable concern, so I met Serge at a gas station down near the airport, dropped the car with him, and was given a general time frame (one of two days, depending on his truck load) as to he would arrive in Austin. He told me we would receive a phone call when he knew the exact date and time, and then another call a half hour before he was due to arrive.
A couple of days into his journey, Serge texted me the exact date, and on that day we received the 30-minute call from Serge, as planned. Again, due to the nature of where we had moved, his truck would be unable to drop off the car in front of our house. We decided on a Lowe's parking lot about 5 minutes from our house, and were soon reunited with our car, no damage done whatsoever.
This was about as effortless a segment of our entire move, thanks to Fast Motion Auto Transport and the more than able driving of Serge. SFAT are reasonable, communicative, friendly, and totally aware how stressful a move can be.
Use them, you will...
Read moreWorst company I ever had to deal with, they never kept me up to date I had to call to find out what was going on because Rafael said the vehicle would be here on a certain day and to find out it was still in PA broke down for 2 days and when the driver finally got down here refused to take the car off the transport until I gave him the pay code and the contract states i can give it either to the driver or to the service provider when the job is completed and the job was not done and I could not inspect the car and he expected me, a 100% Disabled Veteran, to get on the 2nd tier to check it out and with my injury from the military the driver would not work with me and I had to get a neighbor to take care of this and on top of this they broke my windshield and are refusing to pay to replace it. Don't use these people they don't care about the customers especially the Disabled Veterans. (Added after reply)Sure like to see the supposed 30 phone calls a day you guys where never there to answer or return any messages. I had the code but I can't check the vehicle while in the air but to take advantage of a Disabled Veteran and threatened me because of my disability that either I check the car on the trailer or it goes to the storage yard, maybe you might think about being more consederate to Disabled Americans and not try to have bad publicity like this may get. If you want my next step will be the local TV stations, I have enough witnesses here to prove my case. I've filed with the BBB against...
