Tacos A Go Go Downtown Tunnels — Restaurant in Houston

I was skeptical about this place. I mean I am after all a taco expert. Especially street tacos! I ordered the Pollo Guisado tacos which, as standard in Mexico, comes with onion and cilantro, the fresco cheese was something different. I’m use to a melted cheese but whatever. I squeezed lime on my first one and dug in. The meat wasn’t overly wet from the guisado (stew) sauce. It was right on point! The chicken (pollo) was moist and simply delicious! I added a mild sauce to my second taco along with the lime. This was even better than the first! I was a happy guy! What I learned is to start thinking outside the box. Not everything will taste like mom use to make (I’m half Mexican) and a new twist on an old favorite is a good thing. Lastly Not sure if this is a Mexican play on Tacos but if so get rid of the black beans. That’s Cuban not Tex-Mex or Mexican.

So my co workers and i have been going to this location a long time.. tacos have always been very sizable and good. We know not to go between 12pm and 1pm because the service and tacos are not the same. They are much much smaller and the line is going to be long. I was having a "last resort " Friday so I got in line around 12:30pm. The taco was so small with barely any meat on it, that I had to go back and show them... the crazy is part of their brand is making sure the tacos have a sizeable amount of meat in them. Tacos A Go Go specifies a Vegan option for the Verde taco in their menu that I've purchased on three occasions. However, the problem with eating Vegan tacos from a place that serves regular tacos is that there's a chance that no one is going to take out the time to properly clean the cooking area to ensure that there is no meat contamination. When it happened the second time I ordered it, I thought it was just a simple mistake that I got a tiny piece of burnt fat from some meat in my taco.
