New tv arrived today. We ordered it online and ordered a new sound system with mounting brackets. We selected the only installation package we saw available to include. There was no installation package for the sound system, but the one we chose did say it had installation of components.
Unfortunately, when the guy got here with the tv, the order was only for the tv with installation of existing components.
BTW, did I mention he was 10 minutes late on an 8am - noon delivery window? I get a call that he's in Pearland. I assumed he was on a delivery. Now I can only assume he was just at home, sleeping in.
While he was on the phone seeing what they could do (as he's a contractor and has to go through Installs, Inc.), I went so far as to say that even if this was my mistake, I'd be willing to pay the extra installation fee just as long as this gets taken care of today. No response. About 2 minutes later, these were the following unprompted excuses he came up with:
I told him that sound system does have rear wireless speakers. I wouldn't have purchased it otherwise. He tried to argue and I told him to go look at the box.
I finally decided to call BestBuy, but it was my local store. The store said the sound system should have included installation but the online store had to handle it. Online people said it wasn't included. Long story short, I had to purchase a separate installation package. But he should be able to do it today (if he had the tools..... which he doesn't).
They cold transferred me to his Installs, Inc. without telling me what was going on. I still thought I was talking to GeekSquad, at first. They told me I had to purchase a new installation package for the speakers and schedule a separate setup for them.
I feel as though I’ve gone around in a circle. I’m exhausted and I’m frustrated.
Oh, and the guy gets the TV out of the box and sets it up, only to find that it's not working. He has to take it back to my local Best Buy. If it isn't in stock, they'll have to order it, and we'll be looking at reschedule on that installation.

Read moreI've wasted enough time today by typing this. I need customers to be AWARE. They lie. I buy extra $300 worth of storage for a PS5 at Best Buy out of town for Black Friday. I'm in their system since they ask for our number after a purchase. I liked the kid who pushed for the SALE. I love effort and trying to make his company money. I come back to Houston and I call Geek Squad and explained exactly WHAT I NEEDED. I knew it was 2 minutes of work due to the YOUTUBE Video online from the manufacturer. I was told $40 bucks and Geek Squad said" We do this ALL THE TIME". $40 bucks for a screw. Okay.I accept the quote. I show up and after 10-15 minutes I'm told their call center is wrong and we don't want to risk doing this? I said " There is NO risk. I'm Surprised that their NOT DOING IT and I've wasted a trip driving up to Best Buy. I said " it's one screw and I don't have the screwdriver". Why was I told they do this when I explained what I needed and got a QUOTE and confirmation EMAIL. They don't care about YOUR TIME. My opinion is their LAZY or Stupid. I'm surprised by their actions. I mentioned my displeasure on the way out to Kevin. HE could care less and he is at the FRONT. Unless he is deaf or ignored me. What is GOING ON BEST BUY? I go across the street because I google computer repair and it was worth a shot. Thank God for IFIX. The guy did the work in 3 minutes and didn't want to charge me because he said " It's really just one screw". I decided to TIP him the $40 I planned to give to Geek Squad. IFIX actually showed me how to pop the cover of the PS5. He said " they sell covers and are meant to come off if wanted". Hello Geek Squad Bunker Hill. Please HIRE A TECH that wants to do work. I scheduled my day around this appt. Please value...
Read moreBeware of Best Buy's Geek Squad if you are planning to buy appliances. If you must buy appliances (or anything) from Best Buy, don't buy their extended or service protection plan because it it totally worthless. The technician they send (assuming they show up at all) are rude to the point of outright insulting and on top of it all they charge at least 30% above what other local appliance repair companies charge. You may ask why would they charge you if you already have the "protection" plan - it does not include the diagnostic charge which is over $130, when you add up the cost of the plan and the diagnostic charge they nickel and dime you, it is going to cost more than if you just paid some other company for appliance repair. You will also have to deal with the incompetent people they have that handles appointments who are obviously outsourced to India which normally I would not think anything of it except they talk to you like they are reading a script which they are and I know this because the person who answered my call in middle of his sentence apparently lost his place and ACTUALLY started back from the beginning repeating the same exact sentence...
