I don't like writing bad reviews, and I really didn't want to write this one because I know the hairdresser tried his best. But, I think its important there are honest reviews of all experiences.

When I saw all the good reviews I felt confident they would be able to execute the haircut I wanted. Looking at the reviews now, I wonder if they are bots or paid for?

If you are an English only speaker looking for someone to do a creative/complicated haircut, this may not be the place for you. I wanted a dramatic, asymmetric, textured hair style and ended up with no texture and the hair cut looks like an uneven bob.

I think for a simple hair cut, the language barrier wouldn't matter as much. But, in this case I really wish when I said "can you add more texture?" he would have understood me. And then, he just kept cutting after I had showed him how long I wanted the long side. And at the end when I really did not like how it was coming out I tried one more time to say there's too much volume in the back (again just wanting him to use the thinning shears more) he basically said "no no its good".

Now I can't even look in the mirror because this is the ugliest I've ever felt in my entire life and I want to cry every time I catch a glimpse of myself. I'm really glad its just hair and it will grow back.

This is hands down the best place to get your hair done in Houston whether you are a man or a woman. It would appear they specialize in women's hair because you'll see multiple women walk out of there daily with gorgeous hair done like in the magazines, but when I truly discovered their skill is after growing out a Covid beard and having to go to two different places for my haircut and my beard trim. The cost of those added together was insane and I felt like I was spending almost as much on my hair as my fiancé was on hers. So I stepped into Gio Salon and attempted to convinced them to trim my beard. They said they don't provide that service so I just settled for a haircut. But by the time I had finished my haircut, which was amazing, Gio had changed his mind and said "ok I'll attempt to trim your beard too." The rest is history. Now I go to this SALON for what other men normally go to barbershops for because even the beard trims are more skillfully done than at barbershops. I guess skill is skill once you got it and it doesn't matter what you're cutting.
