I waited a day to make my review, because my initial intention was to just find some relief from my sciatic/lower-back pain in preparation for my flight the next day. Results: immediate and shockingly-drastic relief and increased mobility, that COMPLETELY carried over to my long flight ordeal the next day. Fully satisfied, and definitely seeking out further treatment in the future.
Dr. Gu is very attentive, and though the small language barrier can be a bit worrisome at first, I quickly learned just how familiar Dr. Gu is with musculoskeletal conditions. That deep knowledge (combined with modern technology and other friendly patients willing to interpret) led him to quickly grasp my key concerns and goals. For my intention, he had recommended just the accu-pressure massage, but suggested I should try receiving acupuncture treatments as a next step. Before the session: He set a couple of problematic postures as standards to compare improvement. (I.e. I couldn't sit comfortably for very long, and had immediate discomfort when I would lean to bend at the hips unsupported) After the session: I was surprised to be able to sit (in multiple postures) without the gnawing pain running down my leg and lower back, there wasn't even the instant numbness I would feel in my leg when I would curl my back further. I could bend at the waist/hips UNSUPPORTED for the first time in a while. All this mobility even allowed me to put on my left shoe with the same ability and swiftness as I could with my right (this is actually really impressive for those that don't know). The next day: I'm currently LOUNGING in a chair after deboarding my flight where I was in a cramped seat with only minimal amounts of lumbar support; grateful that I decided to go into Dr. Gu's office.
Note: I gave the first acupuncture treatment a try since it's greatly discounted if you receive it along with the massage. But we did the before-after testing after the massage, but before the acupuncture. I can't say for certain how much the acupuncture treatment will help (since it requires multiple visits to see its effects), but I can definitely vouch for the benefits of...
Read moreI am so happy I trusted the reviews and came here. Wow.
This is a massage place that focuses on pain and injuries. About a month ago I overextended and messed up my lower right back side. So much I was contemplating on going to my regular doctor and see if maybe I had done something really bad. But I thought first let me get a massage and see if that works.
So I searched for a massage place when I was running an errand in chinatown and this place came up. After reading the reviews I decided to try out and am so glad I did.
Mr. Gu knows his stuff-he is simply amazing. His English is not very good he uses a little translator machine which was perfect. Anyways this man knew exactly what was wrong by just feeling my back. It was a deep massage. It did not feel great most of the time but i knew that going in because of my injury.
By the 3rd day after my massage i was feeling amazing. I was able to twist and move around more comfortably.
I have decided to go back at least once a month until my back issue is fixed.
Try this place!
NOTES: Text to make an appointment. Take cash or have zelle to pay him.

Read moreMy husband's right shoulder has been hurting by working in front of computer for long time, when sleeping, he couldn't put it down and it felt uncomfortable anywhere, so he wanted to find a place for treatment. One day, I found this place on Google Map and it.
I also had three treatments and I feel like my whole back was obviously relaxed. I work in front of the computer for a long time every day, so the muscles in my back, shoulders and neck were very tense, and I felt this acupuncture and massage are very effective in treating my old pain and muscle tension. We will have several more treatments in the future and will give feedback further. Great to meet Dr.Gu and appreciate the treatment!
We found he only speak Chinese but can message in English, so if you like to contact him to ask about the treatment or make an appointment, message him first maybe the...
