I am and have been an Angel Flight Pilot for over 2 years and fly quite a bit. Since Kathy left and new people have taken over things have gone downhill. A recent experience one of my passengers had with the coordination team was inexcusable. I saw and read the correspondence between the coordination team and my passenger and was quite disappointed. Especially when they told my passenger they had called me…they did not. Then told my passenger to tell me…the pilot in command of my aircraft…where I needed to go to pick up my passenger because they were not going to help. As pilot in command, I decide where I go, not anyone else. They were not even willing to help her with an Uber who they have an agreement with. The drivers are great. The new coordination team no longer seems to care. I have heard this from many of the Angel Flight Pilots I have come across lately. The goal is to help people, not turn them away because it is not convinced. I am very disappointed.
Continued. Today, May 13, 2023 we had severe weather throughout Texas. As an Angel Flight pilot, I bend over backwards to fly my patients where they need to be. We were delayed due to weather and my passengers - I saw the texts - notified the Ground Angel driver - very grumpy individual - that we were running late. He showed up at the Sugar Land airport anyway, proceeded to tell the staff there that he was not going to wait around and also showed them the text messages between him and my patients, which were rude and unprofessional, and that they would have to find another ride. We are all volunteers and I do whatever it takes. I wish I knew your name, but if you don't want to accommodate your passengers, even after you were notified of the delay, then don't volunteer. She stated: 'I could call another day and deal with Rebecca, because she does not have as short a fuse as Crystal said she had?!?!' Are you serious? I will reach out to the owner-c.e.o., it is not ok for anyone in massive pain to be treated less than human. She made herself and her organization appear very poor based on her temper and aggressiveness. She hung up on me and before-that she started raising her voice at me very abusively!
