Iâm not a huge fan of this specific location, mainly because of the people at the front desk where you check in and also because of the kids club. Anytime I come to this location the girl at the front desk is always rude, she hesitates to help with any questions you have and when asking to pay for the kids club she will roll her eyes and just ignore you, if youâre a man she will flirt with you and be very friendly, but Iâve noticed when us women come in she doesnât acknowledge us, if she does she will roll her eyes, I didnât like how she treated me as if I was a bother, very unwelcoming and definitely gives the impression of what everyone says about the gym being full of mean girls, when I came in to scan and asked her a question, she ignored me and continued talking with one of the other gym members (a guy) who she was flirting with and planning to meet with, my question never got answered, I never got any help because she was too fixated on entertaining the guy, it wouldâve been nice to get some sort of acknowledgement, but it definitely made me not interested in this location. The people here are very rude and it messes up the establishment of what can be a great location, The girl in the kids club always comes in super late, hardly ever acknowledges the parents, is rude to the children, instead of watching the kids sheâs just on her phone watching videos with both earphones in her ears not paying attention to whatâs going on, one time I heard her being rude to one of the kids when I brought my little one in, I was hesitant to even leave my child with her. I live close to this location, but am willing to drive 15mins further to go to a different location anytime I work out. Very unprofessional workers here, itâs...
Read moreI don't really understand why this place has such bad reviews. Think for a second: the only real reasons a gym can have bad reviews are 1) bad equipment, 2) lack of equipment, 3) too crowded, 4) bad staff. This gym has nearly none of the above.
I have gone 4/5 times a week for a few months and had zero problems. I do not attend the classes so I cannot comment on the quality, but they have a lot of free weights and a regular crowd on the basketball court. They have a ton of machines... occasionally one is out of service, but it is usually fixed within a week. Compared to the Katy location (which has much better reviews), this gym is far less occupied and has more space in the free weights area. I went to the Katy location to try it out, and the basketball court had like 50 people sitting wanting to play. Maybe the skill level is higher, but I would rather just play.
The only real complaint I have is regarding the personal trainers, which is a non-issue for me. They offer a free session when you sign up, which I suggest should be ignored. The rates are ridiculous (over $100/hr...), and it was an extremely hard sell. In fact, I nearly canceled my membership because of how awkward the hard sell was. The head trainer (Chris?) started insulting me when I told him I didn't want to pay over $400 a month for 2 short sessions a week.
The sales manager (Eric) seems like a great guy and has always been happy to answer any questions I have about the facility and thoroughly explained the millions of membership options when I first joined. The gym is also undergoing a remodeling, so the equipment/floors etc. will be...
Read moreThis gym is no longer what I expect.I have been going here around the time it opened. Compared to other Lafitness in the area and the new Blink studios, the equipment is not being updated. Treadmills have tears in belts, ellipiticals are rusted with years of sweat and gum in drink holders. Have reported these issues for years, with no change. Weights are just as rusted with noticeable wear and tear on belts and cords holding weights. Pins to hold weights in place are still being swapped around on other machines. Only thing replaced in the gym was the carpets and the expanded personal training area. With the months this gym was closed, they should have replaced what they could. The staff is great, just not the gym. A/C always seems to be an issue at this gym. For those wanting to cancel, you will have to cancel through the online portal, but will have to print a document to mail in. UPDATE: wanted to come back to the gym since leaving during COVID, but after seeing the same machines not working or scheduled for service after so many years is ridiculous. Those machines can no longer be maintained and aren't being replaced. Shame on this gym for taking membership fees and not being able to purchase new equipment when needed. Other gyms are either update or replace equipment. Shame to have this gym in this area of town....
