To our horror, we had one of the worst restaurant experiences we have ever had.
When we arrived, we were seated at our booth. We waited for probably 20 minutes before our server brought menus to us. When the menus were brought to us, they were lunch menus instead of dinner menus and we waited another 10 mins for the right menus to be brought to us. There were 4 of us but there were only 2 sets of silverware on the table. We initially thought nothing of it and decided to just wait. Bread was served and only 3 bread plates were provided. We had to request for the additional bread plate and the additional 2 sets of silverware. My sister and brother-in-law ordered a diet coke and a coke respectively and it was served to us and placed on the table. Our waitress walked away and came back 3 seconds later and said to my brother in law “sorry this is the diet coke, I gave you the wrong one”. Instead of replacing a new one for us (since she had no knowledge of whether it has been drunk or not), she merely just switched both drinks. Literally swapping the diet coke and the coke from my sister to my brother in law. This does not seem appropriate especially during this pandemic. Furthermore, she did not even ask if they had drunk it. Our orders were taken and I ordered from the Restaurant Week menu, which includes a starter, entrée and a dessert. At the point of ordering, I was never asked my preference for the dessert which I just shrugged off thinking I would be asked at the end of my meal. When it was time to get the check, never once was I asked about the dessert. During our starter and entrée, we were probably checked in by our waitress twice very briefly. However, when it was apparent that we were talking to a manager or when we were ready to close out our check, the more frequent check ins happened. This appeared to be extremely calculated and ungenuine. However, the most appalling experience was when we ask to speak to the manager (Junico) and told him about our horrible experience (listing each and every point above), he brushed it off and said that the waitress is “usually very strong and must be having an off day” and did not acknowledge our terrible experience in any way except with a “free appetizer on us” card the next time round. It feel condescending and almost like he was placating us rather than acknowledging the appalling service. Food - The food was substandard. The bread basket was not warm and the bread sticks felt just like little bread crackers from Olive Garden instead of a high end restaurant. We ordered a 4# lobster that was dry and tough. I ordered a rare filet mignon that was not in any way juicy. And at other regular steakhouses, we would have been asked to check if the steak was prepared to our liking and of course, we were not asked that. We ordered a few sides to share and were not provided side plates and my mom had to put her sides on the same plate as her lobster shell. When we informed the Manager about it, we were promptly brushed off by saying they were not allowed to give out side plates due to the pandemic.
Our experience at The Palm felt like we were in a chain diner instead of a supposedly high-end steakhouse. It is thoroughly disappointing to have had selected The Palm to celebrate a 71st birthday and it is safe to say that we were irked by our experience and...
Read moreGreat experience, great food, and great service. Went there for dinner last night and they were 100% on everything from service to food and everything in between. Even the valet guy was great beginning and end. Was greeted by Tony, who sat us and continually checked with us throughout our evening. And as a pleasant surprise, got to see big Jim, who was over at the Westheimer location for like 30 years. Our waiter Ramon was prompt in bringing us water and bread prior to ordering. Starting with the food, we ordered as appetizers, the meatball and the bacon appetizer. Both were amazing. The meatball was tender and flavorful, and that thick cut bacon was wonderful. For our main course, we ordered a 4 pound female, lobster, chicken Parmesan, spaghetti with oil and garlic, and some creamed spinach. We of course, had to take some home with us. The lobster was just amazing. Probably the best in all OF HOUSTON. And for 4 pounds, I thought it to be reasonably priced. The chicken Parmesan also probably the best in Houston. Was wonderful last night and every time I’ve ever had it there. The pasta was al dente and perfectly cooked. The cream spinach is also some of the best that I’ve had in Houston. For dessert we had the cheesecake which was also excellent. Our waiter Ramon was attentive and always there when we needed him. Also, when the lobster was brought I cannot remember the waiter’s name, but he did a great job of cracking the majority of it so it was easy to navigate on the plate. At the end of the evening on our way out, Tony was kind enough to give us a tour of the entire restaurant. It is deceivingly large. He showed us through each of the private rooms which have a different theme and we were extremely impressed. And as a bonus, the GM, Brian sent us a thank you email the following morning. You don’t see that with the restaurants these days. Very impressed. Can 100% recommend the PALM HOUSTON for their food and their service and just an overall wonderful experience. And again they have the best lobster in all OF HOUSTON. We...

From the moment I entered The Palm, I was enveloped in an atmosphere of timeless elegance and sophistication. The attentive and professional staff exuded hospitality, ensuring that every aspect of my dining journey was met with impeccable service.
The star of the show, without a doubt, was the exquisite food. The Palm's culinary prowess is a delightful fusion of classic American steakhouse fare with a contemporary twist. Each dish is a symphony of flavors, expertly crafted by the talented chefs. The top-quality ingredients and meticulous preparation made each bite an experience to remember.
The impressive selection of prime steaks, perfectly cooked to my preference, was a carnivore's dream come true. The accompaniments, such as the indulgent lobster mac and cheese, were equally divine and complemented the main courses perfectly.
The Palm's attention to detail extends to its extensive wine list, offering a curated selection that pairs seamlessly with the menu offerings. The sommeliers' expertise in recommending the perfect wine to enhance my dining experience was commendable.
The restaurant's luxurious ambiance, complete with dim lighting, plush seating, and tasteful decor, created an intimate setting for an unforgettable meal. Whether it's a romantic dinner or a gathering with friends and family, The Palm provides a charming backdrop for any occasion.
In conclusion, The Palm - Downtown Houston, is a culinary haven that excels in delivering an extraordinary dining experience.
