\ express profound disappointment with my recent visit to this restaurant. Guadalajara has held a special place in my heart since childhood, and returning after years, I eagerly anticipated savoring its renowned cuisine. However, upon entering with my party of nine, I encountered the manager, Mike, whose rude and arrogant demeanor was immediately off-putting. Despite my need for a service dog due to chronic illness, Mike asserted, "Nope, dogs aren't allowed," with a disrespectful tone, displaying a lack of awareness regarding service animals and their legal rights. I wasn't even greeted first. I then pointed to her vest, stated she was a service dog and I need her for medical reasons. The conversation could have easily ended there but he continued with the uneducated and discourteous behavior. As a manager of a restaurant, you should be aware and educated on service animals and the life saving services they provide for many people. Mike, you should do some research and come to learn that what you were going to do is against the law, "no person with a disability may be denied the use of a white cane, assistance animal, wheelchair, crutches, or other device of assistance." It is already hard enough living with the day to day struggles that I have to endure and entering your restaurant left me feeling unwelcome, uncomfortable, angry, and embarrassed. If I were in a smaller party, I would have immediately exited your restaurant. Being with family, friends, and kids, I was not going to cause that ache. It didn't end there once again. I was being watched from the moment I was brought back to our table. It was very difficult to enjoy my meal as Mike continually surveillanced us throughout the meal. What an uncomfortable experience. I provided pictures of my service animal below in case you question my legitimacy or the behavior of my TRAINED service animal throughout our meal. I also want to point out that while Mike was walking by, he was seemingly nice to other patrons, greeting them and asking how their meal was. During the MULTIPLE trips he made by our table, there was never an apology, a greeting, or any asking how our food and service was. Such a disheartening experience, I felt extremely singled out and discriminated against due to my disability and medically necessary needs. On the other hand, our server, Mark Anthony, was fantastic. He provided amazing service, was kind and outgoing towards EVERYONE at the table, and was on top of his refills. Mark Anthony is an amazing asset to this company and it saddens me to witness such a valuable asset working under the management of someone as uneducated and...
Read moreIt is going down. I always enjoyed the food, but the customer service is lacking. I ordered a salad to go. I went to pick it up. The cashier named Mark took my payment. I asked what kind of dressing was in the bag. He said ranch. I told him I wanted the dressing that normally came with the salad, the mango lime. He brought back a container and said I could keep the ranch. The small container wasn’t even halfway full. I went back to the counter and asked if I could get more. He proceeded to tell me that he’ll have to charge me. I said “Are you kidding me, after I just paid $20 for a salad? I’ve never heard anyone say that before”. He then shrugged his shoulders and went to get the dressing. When he came back, I told him again that I hadn’t encountered a problem before. He says “Well you can talk to my manager “. I told him I could but I was just stating that this was a first. That left a bad taste for me. As I walked to my car, I decided that I would speak to the manager. I called and the young lady who answered immediately said that the manager was not there. I told her that I was just there and the cashier told me I could speak with her. The manager spoke with me. She was very pleasant and helpful. She offered me a complimentary salad for the next time. I appreciated her. I thought it was ironic since the employee didn’t want to give me enough dressing to cover my salad. I also didn’t appreciate the young lady who answered my call lying to me initially. One more thing that was distasteful was the fact that they put my order in a bag that smelled like rotten fish. I didn’t smell firsthand, but after I opened it up the bag completely, it was one of the most rank smells I’ve ever...
Read moreMy wife and I decided to give Guadalajara a try before going to a concert at the House of Blues. I will say in their defense that they were busy when we arrived. They told us it would be a 20-25 minute wait for a table and they were pretty much spot on there so absolutely no complaints about that. When we sat down, we waited another 10 minute or so before anyone came to the table. Again, not a big deal because they were crowded. I couldn’t tell you who our server was because when he got to the table he didn’t introduce himself, he literally just said “you want drinks?”. We both ordered a tea and asked if we could get a small queso and an order of ceviche. He didn’t acknowledge us, he just walked off. He did bring our drinks back, set them down and walked off again with any actual acknowledgment to us. A food runner brought out the appetizers and I will say that he was very friendly and the interaction with him was the highlight of our trip. The queso was bland but my wife said the ceviche was very good. I can’t tell you how the entree was because we never got the opportunity to order. I’m not sure the exact amount of time we were there, but it was in the neighborhood of 20-25 minutes before our server came back to the table. He made no attempt to take our order or ask if we wanted anything else, he just let us know that he was going to get us refills. At that point, we’d been sat at the table for roughly 45 minutes so we just got the check and left without ordering anything else. Like I said, they were very busy and maybe they were shorthanded so I wouldn’t completely write them off because the ambiance was nice and the food smelled delicious but I would go in with low...
