I don't recommend this place right now until they make changes. They seem nice people and a well run place but not really. The tech couldn't answer my questions on what the purpose was of a $188 blood test on my perfectly healthy cat who had already been blood tested last year when she was 1. They were really pushing for me not to join my cat during the appointment and I see why now. I refused to not join her and in the back they let her out of the bag to weigh her in a room with other animals in it including large dogs who could have got in a fight with her. She was freely roaming on the scale with little supervision besides me in that large room with other animals that may have had disease or been aggressive. I've been to many vets my animal is always in a self contained room where I am welcome to join. They then put her back in the bag and pushed hard again for me not to join in the shot room. I demanded to join and it was a very cramped tiny room like a walk in closet that my cat felt threatened in and became aggressive. Being let out of the bag a second time and in the small space she was threatened and scared. They tried again to get me out of the room and also suggested I come back another day after I just went through the trouble of showing up to the appointment. They were so concerned about being bitten by her but none of them had long sleeves or gloves. My cat is so nice if not spooked but she was not calm around them they really spooked her and she had to be majorly restrained. At another vet when she was 1 he took her out of the bag once, in a contained room, and gave her the shot before she knew it and she didn't even know she got the shot and didn't need to be restrained. I can't believe they let her out of the bag in an uncontained room with other large dogs also un contained out of their containers being seen by other techs. They shouldn't think animals are like humans, they can get spooked or act unpredictably especially around other animals. The fact they try to stop you from joining your animal is a major red flag and I'm so glad I stayed by my cats side. Contain the other animals so that they are not exposed to my animal and make sure your people know how to handle...
Read moreThis place is very wonderful! I took three of my cats here and the staff was just amazing and very friendly! They do give you an estimate before you do anything with the pets but, it’s just a bit too costly my grand total for three cats was a bit over $1,000 and that’s not including the full exam for one of my cats that o had to take back home with meds to have her calm down and come back another time. Even with them giving me a free exam for her but still was so expensive. They gave me a quote for one of my cat that needed a tooth extraction and was 900 and some then I get a man and he then explained that the 200 and some would be taken off as I had just gotten blood work done for her. In my mind it was going to be 700 something which was fine as I did not want her in anymore pain and wanted it done asap. They were able to schedule me quickly and all which I was very grateful for and they send me a quote two days or a day before and it was slightly still off but, I remember the vet telling me 200 off because of the blood work. I show up the day of surgery and the invoice was completely different and I asked why? They said that they didn’t add the tooth extraction on it which my bill was at 984 then for dental cleaning, tooth extraction, X-rays and all. I just left it be since again I didn’t want my baby to be left with pain and I just was a bit disappointed with this. Don’t get me wrong the staff was great and all they checked up on her and took great care of her but, the prices are outrageous and just not somewhere that I can keep going to pay that much for my pets. I honestly wish that I could keep going to this place just be aware that the prices are a bit pricey and they might consistently change so you aren’t fully aware of what you will be paying till the day of for sure. Thank you so much for being so wonderful I just wish the prices...
Read moreIf anyone is browsing the reviews to decide if you want to take you baby here, then this is it. This place is wonderful, and I keep being impressed by how reliable and professional they are.
First, the front desk team is amazing in handling customer’s appointments and inquires. I adopted my first puppy, confused about what vaccines needed and how often I should get her one. Maddie was wonderful on following up my email and explaining the vaccines details during a call. And Mia was also super helpful in recent interactions regarding my puppy’s swelling issues. I was so worried, not sure if I should take her to a emergency room since I couldn’t get an appointment till several days later. Then they recommended sending an email with the pictures of the infected areas, and they can let me know if she needed any urgent care. Then it comes to the second amazing point about this clinic.
Doctors are professional, knowledgeable and they do care. Dr. Wiltshire replied my email after seeing my puppy’s swelling picture and told me it was not an emergency, I could take her in at the next available appointment. Mia helped me to be able to drop off my puppy and pick her up during a weekday. And after checking her situation, Dr. Wiltshire called me to explain what happened to my puppy, what’s needed and what’s not. WOW. I was impressed. And I did have great experiences with Dr. Bush with my previous visits as well!
Lastly, I would like to mention that they communicate well by listing out the charge for each item and let you know in advance, so there is no surprise. And they even emailed me the estimate cost for the treatment with my drop off and potential sedate. I appreciate the transparency and reasonable price.
Overall, I would like to say thank you to everyone in Lakeside Animal Clinic! And thank you Kimberly for letting my know that I bathed my...
