You can tell a lot about a store (owner/owners) by the presentation of their stores. There are those who see it as just a means to make money and those who are equally concerned about the product, the customer AND making money.
The ones only looking to make money have toys stacked upon toys, don't care what happens to the packaging and communicate in that overpowering "Do I Have A Deal For You" fake voice. That voice that immediately puts you on edge as it seems to follow you around the store. There's no respite while walking around as anything you may look at too long or start to pick up conjures something to be said to you about the item and why you need to buy it. I mean, sure, it's fun to go to places like a yard sale and feel rewarded if you've found something after rummaging through those stacks of toys. But, most of the time after three minutes you realize the only thing you've found is this oily dusty residue that has come from those same boxes because they've not been cleaned since haphazardly being thrown out to sell.
Then, there's places like Super Happy Incredible Toys. From the moment you walk into the store you are greeted with a well organized display of product. Not only is it displayed cleanly, but the toys themselves appear to have been attended to prior to being put out for sale. Some of the product display areas are more of a cross between an art gallery than a toy store. I dare say, Supper Happy could be a Toy Gallery. They obviously care about the toys as much as they do with making money. When I was there, I got to meet Bunnith and he was incredibly real and wasn't pressuring me or the others to buy a damn thing. He was more interested in knowing what kind of things we collect and reminisce about toys in general. Shopping was much more at ease which makes me want to come back again because of that experience.
Yes, you can tell a lot about a store by the way it's presented. Super Happy is one of those good places where the...

Read moreI visited Houston for a 4 day 3 night mini vacation and visited several toy stores. I was looking for a specific figure. While a few other toy stores had the figure I wanted, they were charging almost double the box price. It was refreshing to find a place that had a great selection, reasonable prices, and some guys that love the hobby of collecting. I found the figure I wanted at box price, which was a borderline miracle. The smaller size of the shop has no effect on the massive selection that they have. They even have some fodder and BAF bins which are perfect for customizers. My only regret is that I didn't visit this place first, as I had to visit on the way out. Will definitely come here on my next visit to Houston and probably spend more than...
