This was my second time here. The first time was a better experience with a different waiter, the waitress and her attitude with the lack knowledge on serving wine. And waiting tables. We came in on a Tuesday night for their $30 special bottle/ board. 1st we asked what brands of wines and type of board.. She reply â well the board is pre-made and we have red and white , wat you want?â I asked again, the Brand of wine ⊠like the name.. She reply â one second â She attended another table went to the bar , then served another table, then came back to say âItâs a Merlot â At the that moment I reply well bring a the cheese board , and find out theâNAME OF THE WINEâ Eventually, she came back with the board and the red wine and a beautiful Decanter, And just left it on the table and walked away. I looked at my wife and she replied is she not gonna serve the wine or are we serving it ourselves? Usually when you get a bottle of wine service the server serves the first glass, As we experienced it the first time there with a different waiter, Our first experience the waiter was on key he saw when our glasses were low and served it himself as he asked politely. Then the cheeseboard came out with some really hard I guess supposed to be toast bread, but it was hard as a rock and we asked for something lighter and she brings out tortilla chips and says thatâs all we have but weâre baking more bread. The peach in corn syrup was something out of a can . I had to ask the pregnant bartender for assistance since the waitress neglected our table for service, She was very kind and poured our first glass, kindly and apologize for her actions. Then the waitress came back to our table and said whatâs wrong and I asked her usually you post to pour the first glass of wine to the table that you were serving, She replied â I mean âyah, I can pour it for you. I mean If you want!â Iâm the only waitress here, with an attitude. I thought to myselfâ if I wanted to pour own glass I would have stayed home and pop my own dam bottle! I asked for the bill as we didnât bother to enjoy our evening after this service experience. She gave another attitude, I spoke with the manager and she apologized and eventually gave our money back and went elsewhere for better service..The place looks nice but service blows⊠To the owners: Good service is what brings customers back, This waitress had the lack of knowledge of serving tables, treating customers and names of bottles of wines that she is selling , more or less have broken English, I rather had spoken to her in Spanish Lack of Staff drives quality service down. The only reason we came back is because the first time we were given great service. This last experience convinced me and my wife not to come back until a further engagement is placed at this venue. To the bar manager: When you only have one server itâs best not to be on your laptop while at the bar when customers are waiting to be served, the down time is between your rush crowd on certain nites is the best time to be on your laptop duties. And as a manager myself in hospitality service, Itâs the rule of thumb to ask your guests to see how they are doing and thank them for coming to BEST REGARDS⊠BEST...
Read moreI'm not really the one to leave reviews unless I had a really great experience or a not-so-great experience. Unfortunately, I was so disappointed with this place. The aesthetic of Best Regards is actually appealing, and I was excited to go to celebrate my friend's birthday; a friend I haven't seen in months. Well, the excitement didn't last very long. I'm not sure if the server was having a bad day (which in the service industry, I can totally understand and relate) or if she decided from one look at us to treat us with such contempt. She was unwelcoming, rude and short with her responses. We remained kind and understanding even when she brought out the wrong drink and gave us a dirty look when we apologized and told her that we didn't order that drink. She then continued to forget to bring the correct drink. At one point, we just gave up on it. On top of that, she tried charging one of my friend's an extra $14 tequila shot. At the end, I regrettably tipped 30% without knowing that they already added a 20% gratuity and without knowing the extent on how badly my friends were treated by the server. Also, my card was charged an extra $21 on a separate charge, which is insane. I had already been charged with my tab and the tip. The drinks were a bit below average. They were definitely not worth $17 each. The $45 charcuterie board was underwhelming and stale. If the service wasn't bad, I wouldn't have minded the prices because at the end of the day, you're also paying for the service and the experience.
The only good experience I had here was the valet and the bouncers. They were welcoming and nice, so I really appreciated that. I would strongly discourage my other friends to come to this place or just give them a fair warning about the service. Long story short, that's the last they'll see of...
Read moreThe atmosphere was decent until people tend not to handle their liquor well. Their signature cocktails were NOTHING to write home about. When asked for a mainstream cocktail I was told they didn't have the liquor to prepare it. Therefore, if I wanted to drink for my time there, which I did, I felt forced to drink their iced down, mediocre signature drinks. My lady friend had to return a drink bc it was not as expected. When I went to close out the tab, the lady bartender 4got to remove the returned drink. When I politely brought it to the attention of the bar manager, I felt a negative vibe coming from the lady bartender as if I was in violation for bringing up the drink that was returned which she conveniently 4got to take off the bill (đ) The bar manager removed the drink and adjusted my tab. Paid the tab (Boom!) and went on my way. Couple days passed, and as I was reviewing transactions in my bank acct via the mobile app I noticed a charge was paid out to this establishment "Best Regards" for an OVERAGE of the bill I signed for đ¶. Really!?! Basically people...they still charged me for returned drink This seems to be standard practice among EVERY bar in this country. They figure you or your group may be too drunk or too timid to say ANYTHING.
Not sure if this is the culture management instilles in the staff @ Best Regards....but I won't be returning.
Kinda sad and disappointing bc I haven't been in Houston long and have been looking for kool, friendly places to have drinks, maybe take a date. This establishment has been removed from my list.
