Update response: Cole is my middle name, I’m not dumb enough to put my full name online. I lived at BAM for over a year, back when Rene was the manager. I am now including the photos of the flowers the morning they were destroyed, as well as later in the day when they were destroyed and thrown in the dumpster. You can absolutely see in the pictures that this is the Block at Montrose. The abrasive and immature responses from the owners on nearly every bad review- deflecting blame and accusing tenants of never having lived there- should serve as a MASSIVE red flag to anyone thinking about renting here. Genuinely horrible people own this complex. The lowest of the lowest of the slumlords. Don’t move here unless you want roaches, incompetent management and constantly broken appliances. Would rate zero stars if I could. Management gave me permission to grow Texas native wildflowers in one of the small flowerbeds to help the bees and pollinators. The flowers were blooming and hosting bees, lizards, beetles, frogs, all kinds of native wildlife with nowhere to go. Then one day I come home and they had ripped it all out and threw all the mature developed flowers into the dumpster. A representative of ownership threatened to sue me when I asked why on earth they would destroy something so beautiful and beneficial. These people are tyrants, the definition of slumlords who don’t give a shit about residents or their experience.

The only good things about this complex is Rene, he tries his best to get everything taken care of. You have easy access to the bars also. Other than that. Don't expect anything to get fixed correctly. Maintenance is not great. The dumpster is always over flowing with trash everywhere. We pay for pest control but since I've moved in they have yet come. There is giant roaches that come inside somehow it never fails. They're in the laundry area too. It's very bad. It's also very dark in our building none of the burned out bulbs have been replaced. My floor was put in new which kept delaying my move in which was felayed about 2.5 weeks the floor is unlevel and already bubbling and liftinf in several places. The grounds always has trash and what little land scaping we have is weeds and rocks. The city is currently ripping up concrete everywhere and have left tar and piles of dirt and rocks to fill the 6ft deep holes. I dont have hot water in my kitchen, my water pressure is non existent in my sink, the bathroom shower and sink as well. I know these buildings are very old but a little more upkeep could definitely help. If you're looking for a super not fancy place to live and you want to tuff it out yeah this is it.

Update: they sold off the property. Trying to get a parking pass for 2 weeks has just been horrible. Sent many emails and phone calls. They never send updates or respond to emails. No idea how mant people work here now but none of them communicate with each other. Now that they have raised prices on reserved parking and the lack of parking already. Majority of us are left to park on a dark unsafe street. If my car gets broken into because I can no longer park at the apartments I live in. I will be extremely upset. So far this has been a terrible experience living here. I can tell its going...

Lived here almost a year now. Landlord is a nice and reasonable guy and the location is perfect. Quaint. However... the public laundry machines like NEVER actually work. My clothes get washed 1-3 times they’re always dripping soaked... the dryers sometimes never dry my clothes and no one comes to fix it, even when I, and countless other neighbors have complained about it directly. All they say is “call the number on the laundry machine” but laundry machines are one of the provided amenities on the website. Just being honest here. However, happy with cleanliness of the pool and security with the gates. Speaking of cleanliness, there’s toxic waste sewage water that is always on the road, where we have to park and our tires have to marinate in it every single day for at least a few months ago. Neighbors complained and even sent a report to the city. Pros: happy with how the maintenance guy has helped me replace my door when it was too old and fell off the hinges. Don’t get me wrong it’s a great location for the price, but the time it takes for for any of the workers to actually fix the things that continue to bother the majority of the people living here, are not up to par (outdated public laundry machines consistently not working and taking our money , toxic sewage water affecting neighbors and air quality outside) 3 stars for that More pros: all workers are very sweet and considerate when we communicate. It’s just the timeliness that...
