Do not book this space for events! The check-in process is a nightmare, with zero flexibility from the host. If you rent tables and chairs, you have to haul and assemble them yourself, if you donât want to rent them you have to walk around downtown with them so you have to order them thru them, and setup yourself with no extra time allowed. The building is confusingâyoung guests struggled, older guests got lost, and we had to stop the event just to find them. You do NOT understand how complicated it is to let ppl in during the event until your interrupting your event. Most of my friends were mid 30s and tech savvy and they still couldnât figure out how to get in.
The elevator is unreliable, and the sign to call your host gets lost and guests didnât know what to do, and painfully slowâsome guests resorted to using the dark stairs. On a rainy day, the host refused to give extra time to move things out, even though no one was booked after us. Despite a delayed check-in bc my mom couldnât figure out how to get in we were still charged time and a half for the extra time to take down when it was raining outside no consideration from the host. Again very unhelpful accommodating host.
The host could make simple improvements, like setting up chairs or at least putting them in the party room or handling the elevator during rental time, but instead, the space is chaotic. And those blue chairs inside were very dirty, they are fabric so they have the sweat stains.
Itâs a beautiful studio for photos and would be perfect for shoots. but an absolute disaster for events. Avoid at all costs. My shower was from 11-2pm the final cost was $821
Save yourself stress book an actual event place with a helpful host.
RESPONSE tohost. I wanted to provide honest feedback about my experience using your space for my event. While it is a beautiful venue and well-suited for photoshoots, I found that it did not translate well for hosting an event.
For example, the expectation that I, as the honoree, should have been responsible for setting up my own event is not good. Typically, for an event, the honoree arrives once the space is ready, with setup handled by vendors or family members beforehand. Additionally, the suggestion that I should have sent my guests your Peerspace photos to help with navigation was impractical. There is no clear or common method for including such images in an invitation, and guests waiting at the elevators for assistance highlights an accessibility issue that future renters should be aware of.
I also brought up some challenges I faced, including the condition of the blue chairs and difficulties with access, and inquired about the possibility of waiving the last overage fee. While I understand your policy, I wanted to see if there was any flexibility given these issues. Your response was a firm no, and I respected that by paying the full amount.
This post is not about revenge, as you suggestedâhad that been my intent, I would have refused to pay. Instead, I want to ensure that future event planners understand the logistical challenges of using this space. Having to stop mid-event to let guests in, along with the strict setup and takedown policies, made it more difficult than expected.
For anyone considering booking for an event, I would strongly recommend budgeting additional time for setup and takedown, as one hour each is necessary if any decor is involved. Even walking to and from the car in downtown takes lengthy time, which adds up quickly. My mother-in-law arrived at 10 AM but, found it difficult to navigate the setup process alone. While this may be second nature to you as a host, it was challenging for us as guests.
Ultimately, while your venue is stunning and perfect for photoshoots, I personally would not recommend it for events due to the access difficulties and strict time constraints. I hope this feedback is helpful for both you and...
Read moreAfter leaving a little taco shop at street level, we walked upon a photographer shooting a model in a cool looking narrow alleyway. As the photographer put up her camera, I had to ask who she and her model were, and I wanted to learn more about them... As she eagerly explained her business, I spoke of my latest involvement in the film and acting industry as well as comedy, . . We clicked with her as fast as we could smile. She even invited us to her studio, The Nellie Rose, which it's entrance was surprisingly descretely between two street side establishments. This place is a must see... a studio you'll want to use as a creative space for a photo or video shoot, a movie scene, a dinner outing... The potential seems limitless. The Nellie Rose Studio is fully equiped with dressing rooms, a restroom with glass door shower, a bedroom, a cool kitchen and a huge open area with superb interior and natural window lighting which can illuminate the entire area within view. There is even a stairway up to an amazing outdoor patio. It's flipping bad a##! That stroll on the street chance encounter has led me to play a roll in the studio's latest commercial. Keep your eyes open for it. You'll be glad you booked...
Read moreRecently attended this venue for a small gathering. All I can say is.... ehh. Over priced in my opinion for the quality they offer. OK for a photoshoot but not so nice for hosting events. Building is extremely dated and cheaply staged. During our event we were disturbed by the guest downstairs because there was a leak, again building is very dated. You're charged an extra fee in order to be able to come in earlier to decorate to make the place look half decent. Again, not that nice for an actual formal event at all. Very old and questionable elevator (huge inconvenience to guest because you need to enter a code in order to operate), a cork board on the wall and a non-removable very obviously-âdiyâ collage. It's respectable enough for a last minute gig in complete desperate measures, but I'd avoid ever booking this place. Essentially, you're paying for the location. There were old decor from previous event(s) the owner couldn't bother to remove before the tour. In my opinion you could find a much better place with more decent...
