I would never fly with Turkish airlines again.
In January 12 2023 , I flew with them and what had I happened is beyond describable. On my flight day Jan 12, I arrived at a Boston Logan Airport Massachusetts. I went to the Clark personal to check in and some of my baggage’s came little over weight. I asked her “how much is the overweight price for my country?” She didn’t look at the computer for a price difference between countries instead she asked her colleague who is working next to her. She gave me random amounts just by asking her colleague. I figured she has no clue about price difference between each different countries or she doesn’t know what she doing. I asked her if she could look into the computer and tell me exactly what the costs are for my specific country. So after that, she lost it. She started to get mad at me. She kept throwing my baggage’s. I am not sure what to say. I stood there stunned! As a result, she threw two of my baggage’s without a tug. She was so unprofessional, unethical, non communicative, unfit for the job. Because I saw that she didn’t put the tug on the baggage’s, I asked her that two of the baggage’s she forgot to put a tugs on them. They were already went inside with other baggage as she moves them quickly with treadmills. She asked her colleague again about it but they insisted that my baggage’s would okay and that they would arrive safely at my destination. They told me that I have a receipt to claim it if something happens. I believed their words and jumped to my flight and as I suspected, one of my baggage’s was missing at baggage claim at my destinations. Because of this one incoherent and senseless employee, my whole vacation was ruined. I had to come back and forth to the airline terminal to check my baggage every week. Dealing with security process inside the airport every time I came to check my baggage was so insane and all the stressful time I went through was unimaginable. To make matters worse Turkish airlines, took three months to assess and reimburse for my lost baggage’s. After three, what they offered me for my lost baggage was laughable. I spent lots of money going back and forth to find my baggage, I calculated all the I have lost and suffered as the consequences. But they threw at me one third of what my baggage worth. I had to accept it because I felt like it, if refuse it, it would take forever and I lost every trust on them. My whole experience was bad in this flights with Turkish airlines. I hope they will train their employees how to treat their passengers, smile and welcome them. Also I hope Turkish airlines would improve their reimbursement procedures and consider passengers suffering in the process which is caused by their staffs. For all the reasons I mentioned above, I will never travel with this airline and I would recommend others to not fly with them aa well. If you do travel with them, please make sure that every baggage you carry has a tug before they head to the plane cargo. If somehow you knew that the tugs are missing, insist that they would bring it back and see the them when they put the tugs on them. Otherwise you go through the pain and suffering that I...
Read moreSuch a reputable company should not have such low-quality employees! At Houston George bush airport, the Turkish Airlines staff, specifically the named Noah or Nour (who had name bedge hidden in the vest), manager named Su, and another person whom I believe is the supervisor who hides their name and badge, absolutely need to educate themselves. A manager who cannot communicate with passengers and refuses to answer questions, and she turned it to drama out of nothing and called someone I guess a supervisor who, without trying to understanding the situation, behaves rudely and lies about flight information, even threatening to blacklist the passenger with false accusations to prevent them from flying. No employee, not even the owner of the any company has the right to treat any kind of passenger, any customer, in such a manner. YOU CANNOT THREATEN ANYONE WITH LIES, MUST KNOW YOUR LIMITS. They give the impression that they need to not only learn their jobs better but also improve themselves to prevent further disruptive behavior in society. A report has been filed for reviewing the company's camera and voice records related to this incident, and after the company's investigations, necessary legal actions will of course be taken due to their behavior. This comment is intended to warn the company and their customers. Do not try to communicate with them to have a better travel...
Read moreWe paid for 5 extra bags at $250 each (for the total of $1250) on a Turkish Airlines flight from Houston to Kathmandu, Nepal as financial assistance for the passenger who runs a nonprofit. There were last minute decisions and only 2 extra bags were transported. When the passenger checked in, I asked for a refund at the check-in desk and I was informed that refunds are processed by customer service. When I called customer service, I was told to go to the website and file a request for the refund under “feedback forms”. It is arcane, but I did it. The response stated the passenger needed to file the refund request. I went to the Turkish Airlines office in Houston, asked Nina about the refund for $750, and she directed me to the website. I filed my refund request on the website again and the website requested confirmation from the passenger who resides in Kathmandu. He completed the process on the website and the refund of $750 was deposited into his bank in Kathmandu. We donated the $750 to the passenger’s nonprofit organization. Both Nina and Reema were patient and customer service oriented. My husband and I brought a bouquet of flowers to thank them for their...
