I purchased a dining table, an Ottoman and a sofa from Modani Furniture. Before checking out, I asked Modani if they had all my items and the answer was yes, so I continued my purchase. On my first try I did it online and after a day I was contacted by Jennifer Garcia and she told me that they did not have any sofa or ottoman for me. Using the chat on modani.com I asked for a solution because I was not seeing any movement and I was contacted by Eric Seba. He told me that he could not help me because the internet and his warehouse were totally different systems, unless I canceled the sofa and the ottoman, which according to his email he had in stock. I did as he told me, but days and weeks passed and no sofa or ottoman yet. To be fair, he was somehow responsive (I had be emailing him if I wanted updates) to my email which I guess is fine and he did try to help, so I have no complains about Eric.
The sofa and the ottoman were supposedly sent by mistake to the Houston warehouse instead to my address. I tried to call to the number on the internet for Modani Houston, but the waiting time is worse than what Phoebe waited on the internet. At this point I emailed Eric for a follow up and he told me that someone in Houston was going to call me. I communicated with someone called Kassandra or something like that, which is not the manager but works for Modani. She complained to be because I did not purchase the Sofa through them but to the Dallas office, which seriously I don't care about those internal problems, I just want the sofa that I purchased in my house as soon as possible with no stress. I asked if she was able to let me know the status of my delivery and she told me that she could not do it and that I had to wait 4 days for the manager to do it. I asked what else she could do for me and she started talking over me and was rude. I politely and patiently (after more than a month) told her that I would wait for the manager.
Finally the manager called me telling that they have the Ottoman, but the sofa that comes in the boxes, is missing one and that she was going to follow up with my order. I gave her 2 weeks, she never called. I used the chat in modani.com and the agent (Jennifer) was very nice and told me that the people from Houston was going to call me. The manager did called me with more excuses and later on I had a missed call from her one week ago and she has not followed up. At the moment I am EXTREMELLY unsatisfied.
Timeline: Online purchase - 05/12/2020 Email asking to cancel sofa and Ottoman - 05/13/2020 Cancellation - 05/15/2020 Dealing with Eric - 05/12/2020 to 06/09/2020 Eric telling me about the shipping mistake to the warehouse instead of Houston 06/09/2020 Houston unresponsiveness - 06/09/2020 to 06/12/2020 I sent an email to Eric asking for help in regards to Houston unresponsiveness - 06/12/2020 Houston office contacted me with bad news and promising updates - 06/12/2020 No updates so I emailed Eric and contacted Jennifer for help - After the contact on 6/13/2020 to 06/29/2020 Contact from Houston office with further excuses and missed call on the same day - 6/29/2020 My first review 7/9/2020 - To this date I do not have the sofa and feel unsatisfied with the service.

Read moreGreat modern/contemporary furniture with good quality and even better prices. The staff is very friendly and helpful, however there is a major problem with Modani. I hate to give this location 1 star because the store and the staff are actually great (well, the manager could be a little better when it comes to doing the things the salesmen can't do without his approval in a timely manner) however, the company itself (corporate or whatever you wish to call it) is hot garbage. I ordered a bookshelf in Nov. '16 and they delivered a buffet because, while the invoice from the store said bookshelf, the invoice from the warehouse said buffet. I started calling late December because the delivery guys told me they would sort out the problem (hint: they didn't). So I call customer service multiple times over the course of a few months only for someone to tell me that I have to speak to the saleswoman who handled that particular transaction (they told me this April '17 and previously they all told me to call the person from their customer service in charge of Houston orders who is apparently never at her desk and doesn't return calls). Go in to get new living room furniture in May and get the bookshelf sorted. Bookshelf apparently needed manager approval and they told me to wait so I say ok, cool have it delivered when you deliver my other items. Manager approval didn't go through until 1-3 days after my other furniture was delivered. And it doesn't end there. They delivered all my furniture sans rug because at the warehouse it said out of stock, yet it was in stock when the salesman showed me in-store. Ok, no worries redeliver it with my bookshelf since I got a call saying it would be delivered on June 6. Bookshelf finally arrives June 6, 2017 after ordering it mid-November 206 aaaaand it's the wrong color. I spoke to 2 salespeople who both knew the bookshelf I wanted was white, even the delivery people remembered that I asked for a white one. Called the store and Lexus (bless her heart, she is an amazing saleswoman and supremely friendly) was as shocked as I was seeing as how on her invoice it calls for a white bookshelf. I spoke to a different person earlier when the delivery men were here (I assume it was someone working at the warehouse) and they told me the white was out of stock. So there is a definite and insanely frustrating disconnect between the store and the warehouse. One so appalling, I cannot recommend anyone shop here unless it's an item that requires no assembly and you can pick up from their warehouse. And even then, you might show up there and they say it's out of stock even if the store tells you otherwise. A damn shame considering the quality and price point almost can't be beat by any other store in Houston. If you are willing to take the risk Ivan, Fernando, and Lexus are all excellent salespeople and will bend over backwards to get you what you want. Read moreYesterday I spoke with Ivan (Houston Store) and He state that the Majelli Modern Bed White (790.00) is only available in King & Queen in NY and the cost to bring it to Houston will be 500.00, so due to buy it online cost me 158.00 he requested to buy it on line " it is a good deal". So I bought it (total paid $1,026.21). Today I received an Email from Daphny Obregon "We have received your order regarding the Majelli bed, unfortunately the king is sold out and the Queen size is available in NYC only" I tried to buy the bed online and it shows there was a king side available in NY - actually the system allow me to buy it again and I try it to buy the Queen and happened the same, system always allow me to buy it. I call to NY store and I very rude person told me : " I JUST SENT U AND EMAIL THE BED IS NOT AVAILABLE ANY MORE" if you want it in Queen it will be 250.00 for shipping" so, a total of 1400.00 something..... What ?????? from where that amt come from? The bed is on sale Queen side 690.00 plus 250.00 shipping plus tax 69.30 = total 1009.30 dollars So I requested to speak with a manager .. then, he said : I'M THE MANAGER.....wow the manger ???? and this is the kind of treat that you give to your customers???? He responded DO U WANT THE BED OR NOT??? You guys has a very ugly customer service and you guys are a liars ... I followed all steps in the website, I didn't put any prices, the website put itself and then u guys say: oh no it is a system error.... you have to wait until update, how I'm going to know if the website is updated or not? It is suppose to be updated all the time, the people who buy online, buy what the see at the actual moment. Then again Daphny Obregon send me another email stating: "Per your request this order has been cancelled" I did not cancelled nothing!, I want the bed that I bought online King or Queen for the price that I paid in Modani website with the prices that you guys put there!!!!! I do not put the item prices, taxes prices or the shipping prices. That is not all, the email with the cancellation stated that the order # 100003404 for Alan Bryan who lives in Georgia was processed . My order # is 100003405 You guys are a shame!!!!
