On 08/20/24 at approximately 3:30pm I brought my iPhone 14 Pro Max in for water damage repair at 11550 Gulf Freeway, Houston, TX 77034.
I was told the cost of repair was $150.00 (with proof) and agreed to the repair. Approximately an hour later, I was told the fee was $250.00. I declined the service after being told there was no guarantee it would work and it would take two plus days to service.
By contrast, I visited the the Kirby Drive location at 5318 Kirby Drive Houston, TX 77005 at approximately 6:50 pm and they provided a more transparent and customer-friendly service, starting with a $40.00 diagnostic, which was a stark contrast to the Gulf Freeway location's approach.
However, after speaking with Brandon K. at the Kirby location, it appears that the technician at the Gulf Freeway location (Pete R.) deliberately and intentionally damaged my screen even further so that it wouldn't turn on; he disconnected the Face ID cord; and neglected to add screws to the phone. Brandon K. from the Kirby store confirmed these malpractices over the phone and via internal notes.
Moreover, the initial repair cost of $150.00 has now escalated to $450.00 due to the technician's unlawful actions, placing an unexpected and significant financial burden on me.
Given the severity of the situation, I hope for a prompt response to address this matter and prevent further escalation. This store is 100 percent liable for the damages they caused to my phone as confirmed by all of the employees at the UbreakIfix location on...
Read moreScam. Do not use these scammers. They tried to steal $125. if ZERO stars was an option, I would use that. Dropped a laptop off with a broken screen May 3rd. Paid 50% of the $250 repair. Said it would be 4 days to fix it. 15 days later I picked it up with no repair completed. Over that 15 days there were multiple phone calls, no one knew the status of the laptop. No one knew if parts had been ordered. They refused to let me talk to anyone in charge. No one was in charge apparently. One call they said parts had been ordered. Another call said the parts were wrong. Another call said they said they couldn't get parts yet. This got more and more sketchy with every call. I went and picked up the laptop because they weren't going to fix it. They didn't have the charger when I got there. They had to go find it. Then they said I had never paid the 50% down. I absolutely had. They said they had no record of it. I told them they had no record of anything and showed them my receipt. The guy was visibly not happy that I had proof of payment. Took it and went into the back for a while. Came back out and processed the refund. Said it would take a week for it to show back up on the credit card. Tried to not give me the refund receipt. He ripped it and pretended he didn't know how to print another one. We'll see if the refund shows up. I suspect this will be an ongoing issue. 100% scammers. DO NOT USE...
Read moreI don't do reviews but this place merits one. I wish I could give it zero stars. I took my iPhone 6 to get a cracked screen replaced. I had to go back twice for them to get my screen to work properly and get it to look right. The quality of the first screen they installed was terrible. The second one started having problems a couples weeks later. They pride themselves of using "Genuine parts" but I have found out that only Apple is authorized to use genuine Apple parts. They finally installed a good screen but then damaged my home button. I had to go back two more times to get the home button issue resolved but then they damaged the GPS capability and lost all my contacts, pictures etc on the phone. On top of all this I had to deal with their attitude. Their customer service is pretty bad. I finally decided to take my phone to the Apple store and get it checked. Turns out the GPS was permanently damaged. According the the Apple Tech the phone also had missing screws internally.
I've learned my lesson. For any apple repairs I will be going directly to Apple from now on. I definitely do not...
