La Nueva Michoacana — Restaurant in Houston

I see this place has some negative reviews, I honestly don't understand why. I went in with my family for an afternoon snack and we really enjoyed it. The kids all loved the ice cream, and my wife and I tried their Dubai Chocolate Strawberries.

Someone left a review that these strawberries were not even close to the real thing. To be 100% honest, this was my first time trying them. Even without a frame of reference, I thought that as a treat, they were delicious. I'm leaving a picture for reference.

As far as the customer service goes, the ladies were super friendly, big smiles, answering questions. I'm wondering if maybe the people with bad customer service skills don't work there anymore.

I recommend people give this place...

A colleague and I haven’t been to this place since we were a bit younger so we decided to stop by. We waited in line for over 15 minutes just for the order in front of us (no big deal the worker was by herself), the father and daughter duo didn’t order much. The worker finished with them and then proceeded to count the money in her register and told us to “hold on” but then another worker came out and completely ignored me and my friend to tend to the couple behind us. We tried getting her attention to let her know we have been waiting for over 20 minutes and she completely ignored us. My friend ended up getting upset at this point so we left.

Black people, please stop spending money with communities that can’t even value...

I love supporting local businesses and I gotta say I was very disappointed by the poor service. I was so excited to try the Dubai chocolate and strawberries and cream but was ultimately disappointed with the service. I was completely looked over while both ladies behind the counter ignored me and proceeded to take orders from other customers. I will be sure to never spend money here and discourage others for trying this place...
