I find myself asking why I shop here. Everytime I go to shop here, I leave very upset. We can start with the bad first. The thing that upsets me the most is the fact you cannot pay with a credit card. It's 2017, you're not a mom and pop shop anymore. You can't give them a pass for not accepting credit cards anymore. The fact that they offer an online delivery service but they can't accept credit cards in store is absurd.
Secondly, I understand that theft is a huge concern for your stores. I can tell by the giant cardboard cutout of the police chief in the liquor section. But when I walk in pajamas at 11 pm, I expect not be stalked because my hair is messy and my skin color is tad bit darker than yours. I come to shop in peace, without someone heavily breathing down my neck while I go through a self checkout.
Lastly, "employee owned" is plastered all over the store. You would think because the company is employee oriented that the employees would offer an excellent experience. Wrong, your employees have been rude on multiple occasions, especially when it comes to receiving help at the self checkout. Typically I wouldn't mind this behavior as it could be circumstantial but because the store sets the expectation, this will be another thing I personally did not enjoy.
Now onto the great stuff.
You have an excellent selection of products. This is where all my praise will go to and why I keep returning back to the store. We cook a lot of Asian and Mexican food so it can be especially difficult to find a certain product elsewhere. People will argue that is why they don't accept credit cards but that still is not enough of a reason to pass on such a modern way to pay.
My second praise the size of the store, it's big. It allows me to actually maneuver around crowded aisles. I can also look at products In the aisles without worrying about others having to wait on me. This similarly applies to their parking lot.
My final praise is the fact that the store is 24/7. There are only a select few stores in Green Bay that are 24/7 and I am glad it's this one. I usually pick up a few things late at night and having that as an option really helps. Because of that I always use the self checkout. The self checkout can be great if employees would attend to my issues in a timely manner and with positive outlook.
Overall, I still walk out of the store dissatisfied, upset and bothered that a store has so many flaws, of course, this is my opinion and plenty of others see it differently. Yet, I still know that no matter how absurd the store gets, I'll be there...
Read moreI feel like every time I come here something bad happens. I like the selections, and how big the isles are. But every employee (I’m not joking) has been rude to me in some way or means. And today was the day I said enough and making a review.
I was shopping for my boss, and went to get some kesslers. I made sure to check to make sure there was no signs saying, anything like no more then so many items, or you must buy food items outside of the alcohol area. I didn’t see any of it. So I walked up to the cashier and was waiting to see if she would tell me something. (I only had 1 check to pay for everything) And she didn’t say anything and only scanned the alcohol and told me my total. And I stopped her and said I only have 1 check can I not pay for everything here? I mean if I could I would of paid for the alcohol, and food items at the register. (The main part of the store) But I don’t think you can. And personally some people don’t like multi transactions showing up on there bank statement. So I think there should be away to purchases alcohol and food all at once somewhere without being judged.
The lady’s still did it thankfully or I won’t of gotten the alcohol. (There was no signs saying anything like you can’t purchases food items or more then so many times in the alcohol part. And if there was they were not in clear sight of view.
Anyways, the lady did do it. But she gave me the rudest behavior in the world. Huffing, rolling her eyes, and what not. And I stood there apologizing Saying I generally didn’t know and I won’t next time, and explaining that it’s all for my boss and she only gave me one check and if I would if known before hand I would of told my boss that I can’t since she (my boss) told me after I was miles away from her to pick up something extra.
But basically, I just wanted to leave a review stating that I’ve been treated poorly to often from this place. And I hope you can train your employees to be kind, even to those that are rude. Rude or not. Be kind. Because you never know why someone does or do something. And maybe...
Read moreThis store has several great things going for it, and a couple of not so good things. Let's start with the great: The liquor store is phenomenal! Without a doubt one of the best selections in the Green Bay area. Easily the largest variety of local and craft beer around with constantly rotating shelves. They also have a wonderful local section that features wine and spirits from around the state. I could spend hours just looking around and trying to find the perfect taste.
Woodman's also gets a solid A in their general grocery department. The variety, again, is astounding. They have two full aisles dedicated to world and ethnic foods; more than I have seen in other places beside World Market. It's not really my style, but friends and family say another stand out is their dedication to having a plethora of alternative, gluten free, non GMO, etc... groceries.
Unfortunately, there's also some not so great qualities. The deli is practically non-existent with the slightest amounts of fresh sandwich meats and cheese. In general, I've found their fresh meat department lacking compared to other area grocers. However, their frozen section and any packaged lunch meats, sausages, and the like, are great.
One other less-than-stellar note is their produce section. Yes, there is a large selection to choose from , especially when it comes to organic produce, but it really isn't that great. I've found myself buying something that is under ripe in the store, waiting a day or two, and it is immediately bad. I wouldn't mind if it was once in a while, but its something that occurs very often.
It's always nice to end on a good note, so let me just say the best reason to shop at Woodman's is the low prices. They are ridiculously low when compared to other local...
