I regret waiting so long to attend this vocational school to be treated the way I have been treated. After how a student assaulted me in the school which was inexcusable even though they had cameras in the lack of absence of professors during the time I question a students behavior towards me. New Jersey law states “attempting by physical menace to put another in fear of imminent serious bodily injury” and somehow this enrollment agreement I signed not only did not promptly handle their bully policy but not even the policy of when I “asked” how would I go about withdrawing from the school under a leave of Absence. After I’ve already been told after my attempted suicide from the mistreatment and mishandling but the owner of the education Sujal that it was all in my head and I was quickly and promptly withdrawn without speaking to a financial aid and left $6550 bill for only two months of my attendance at this beauty school. 6650 to pay in two weeks, meanwhile under my leave of absence, I was already in a partial care to assist with my mental health while being slammed with repetitive emails from the business owner sujal which made me feel more uncomfortable, since apparently all of this experience I had was all in my head. My statement still stands that this school is completely unprofessional. I don’t know what owner of a business would actively threaten me through text messages on the weekends where school is not on opening hours when I already had informed another teacher at that time that I was going to the hospital. The legal threat towards me prompted my attempt of suicide. Because cosmetology is truly what I wanted to do with my life and pursue. The only reason why this business owner was so angry is because I gave a review to my experience and to be honest the authenticity of these reviews or made by paid individuals that come to the educational service to get their hair done. My start date at this particular school was on December 8th of 2023 and ended on February 1st of 2024. I started beside one other student the and introduced Hostile, an aggressive class. I was under the impression I was there for education, not to be treated like I was in highschool projected as if I was the issue to the matter when I have expressed many concerns and I wasn’t the only one. Between the sliding doors to the classrooms, so many students not within my class interrupted a completely educational-less hour of sitting at a table. I cannot tell you how many times I heard arguments, screaming, cursing at each other in the halls. It was Ballistic and unwarranted. I never knew what happened to the grant that I received and I never understood how out of two months how did I owe Half of the schools finances for this education and where were my rights to feeling protected and safe under school grounds? I felt entirely intense and uncomfortable being present for hours with open availability for students to do whatever they want. There’s only about three - four teachers there completely understaffed, no accountability and unbelievably spiteful and rude. Most of them actively didn’t want to be present in class and at times didn’t even show up for work or we’re extremely late. I think the biggest problem is for a hustle environment. You have a hostile business owner. That’s trying to keep him maintain a reputation that is disguised underneath reviews and having students get their act together before they have visitors. I’ll never forget how low I was treated there and other stories I’ve heard from other people. I would avoid salon professional...
Read moreI had my first appointment yesterday with Angelica. I needed corrective color which ended up just being a full head of dye to cover up the old color. Angelica was very knowledgeable, professional and friendly. She worked diligently to cover my previous color. My hair is thick so I had to buy an extra tube of color for an extra $15. Angelica worked hard to stretch the 2nd tube so I wouldn’t have to buy a 3rd one. I appreciated her honesty and hard work to do what was in my best interest instead of just looking to sell more tubes of color. I also got a glaze for added shine. They use REDKEN and other good quality products. I got a facial while I was there, they use dermalogica products which i love. They were able to squeeze me in without an appointment. The facial was wonderful and affordable ($35) but not for everyone. Your in a large room with about 3 beds separated by curtains. If your claustrophobic, prefer privacy or are bothered by the sound of others moving and whispering while your laying down then it’s not for u. I have friends that wouldn’t like this setting, but I’m not bothered by that so it was fine for me. The woman had gentle hands and there was soothing spa music playing. I actually fell asleep and was awoken by the sound of my own snoring so I’d say I felt relaxed during my facial. I would highly recommend Angelica for hair services and the facials are great as long as u don’t mind sharing a room and being separated by curtains. For 2 tubes of color, a glaze, wash and facial I spent $110. I will defineltly...
Read moreI understand and respect that as a salon academy, students are given the opportunity to practice and refine their skills. I was open to having a senior student work on my hair, trusting that their level of training would ensure a satisfactory result under the supervision of an instructor.
That said, I want to express my disappointment with the overall experience. While the balayage result was just okay and didn’t significantly differ from my previous color, I appreciated that it didn’t cause damage to my hair. However, the haircut was particularly upsetting. I specifically asked for curtain bangs, but instead, nearly all of my front hair was cut into two sections of the same short length, leaving me with an awkward and unflattering look.
What’s more concerning is that when the instructor arrived, I expected some correction or feedback—but nothing was done about the bangs. The student proceeded to blow-dry my hair in what felt like an attempt to conceal the mistake, rather than address it. The end result is hair that looks uneven, with sharp, choppy ends that now stick out in an odd way.
I genuinely wanted this to be a positive experience, and I believe in giving students the chance to learn. However, I also believe that paying clients at a discount rate deserve a level of quality and accountability, especially when services are not provided for free. I hope this feedback is taken constructively and that more care is taken to ensure clients aren’t left with results that feel careless or...
