Hudson Physicians is everything that is wrong with modern medicine. They built a fancy new facility, but their hunger for money and the sub-par care they offer is abhorrent. Went to urgent care in February 2020 for a lingering flu that laid me out for 10 days. Normally I would never seek care for a respiratory illness, but history suggested it might be more serious. The provider had no bedside manner and was dismissive of my illness. I was told there was a "new flu" going around and I probably had it, but there was no treatment available. I'm 95% sure that "new flu" I had was COVID-19. A shame the provider didn't dig a little deeper or provide more information. A week or two later we were in complete lockdown due to a pandemic. -Saw Dr. Linklater about an issue. Was told my issue was another completely separate condition for which I had zero symptoms. As she was exiting the exam room she told me -- and everyone within earshot in the hallway -- that she would refer me to physical therapy. When I didn't get a referral after several weeks, I looked in the patient portal to see if my referral was there. It was not, but I had the opportunity to take a look at my inaccurate medical record. It contained false information about my visit, including a recommendation for surgery on an organ I do not have. I called to follow up on the referral and my chart. I spoke to someone in customer service who was understanding, but it felt like lip service since there was no resolution offered besides glad handing. I requested to change my chart to remove the inaccurate information. I was told I would receive my referral. I waited another several weeks to receive the referral for physical therapy for a condition I still don't have. -Went for a med refill and received a physical instead. At that time the physician urged me to get an expensive DNA test to determine if I was taking the right medication (that I had been taking with success for 20 years). I stupidly agreed and began a years-long odyssey of trying different meds. Why the need to fix what wasn't broken? When pressed, the physician was arrogant and demeaning in her explanations to me. Later, I was refused a colonoscopy order by this same doctor. I also received a lot of bloodwork that was not relevant or necessary for the simple med refill I requested. I'm not sure why the doctor assumed I was uneducated, especially when she had "never heard of" my diagnosis. I began to question myself and did research to make sure what I said was correct. It was. Maybe the hayseed wasn't the patient in this scenario. -Again, waited weeks for referrals for my child. There isn't enough time in the day to delve into the rabid billing practices and shakedown for money this organization engages in. There is a clear message that any "outstanding balance" is 100% correct and the reason for "non-payment" is because the patient is a deadbeat seeking free treatment. Insurance, as well as Hudson Physicians billing department, is infallible and clearly all of the lousy sick people are degenerates who think they are entitled to free medical care. God help you if something has been coded wrong or your insurance has made a mistake, because you will be made to feel like you shouldn't have sought treatment in the first place if you aren't able to pay full price at the door. -Sadly, they were the only urgent care in town. That is no longer the case. If this is the future of medical care, send me straight to my grave. I'd literally rather die than deal with this facility ever again -- that is not hyperbole. My family & our sweet insurance payouts will seek treatment elsewhere. A sad state of affairs in a healthcare desert, but here we are....
Read moreYet another poor experience at Hudson Physicians. I brought in an outside lab order and specifically called ahead to confirm they could process it. I was told yes. Instead of following the requisition form and sending my blood to the correct lab, they ran the tests internally without asking questions or clarifying. This means they billed my insurance and I am now being charged for labs I already paid for elsewhere.
When I called to address it, the business office offered no help. A manager from the lab called me days later, not to apologize or acknowledge the mistake, but to tell me everything I supposedly did wrong. She admitted that the staff doesn’t even read requisition forms and justified it by saying they are so experience they do 100+ draws a day. On top of that, when I asked to speak with someone else above her, she told me there was no one — which is simply not true. Someone has to be above her.
Mistakes happen, but how they are handled matters. Instead of working with me to resolve the issue, I was met with zero accountability, zero empathy, and a very disrespectful tone. Unfortunately, this has been consistent with my past experiences here.
I’ve always had positive experiences with the doctors and lab staff at Hudson Physicians — they’re kind, attentive, and truly great at what they do. Unfortunately, the billing department and policies are deeply disappointing and have caused unnecessary stress.
I was denied care for my daughter during a time she urgently needed to be seen — all because of an outstanding bill that wasn’t paid within their rigid 4-month policy. I explained that I was willing to pay and offered what I could realistically afford. I was told a manager would call me, but instead, the same person called back only to quote me an even higher amount with no flexibility or compassion.
I understand the billing staff are just doing their job, but if this is the system they’re required to uphold, then the company as a whole needs to do better. Denying care to children over payment terms — especially when a parent is actively trying to pay — is inhumane. It’s heartbreaking that such a great group of providers is being overshadowed by a business model that prioritizes strict billing policies over people
I also can’t forget a past visit to Hudson’s urgent care when our daughter had RSV. As first-time parents, we were genuinely terrified about her breathing, and even the doctor seemed concerned watching her oxygen levels at first. There was a clear language barrier, and when we calmly asked whether her breathing was normal or something to be worried about, he gave us conflicting answers that didn’t help ease our fear. Eventually, he recommended we go to Children’s via ambulance — only for us to hear him outside the room on the phone referring to us as “very nervous and overprotective parents.”
We weren’t overreacting. We were scared parents trying to do the right thing. That kind of comment was dismissive, unprofessional, and cruel. We didn’t want to go to the ER — we wanted clarity, and he didn’t give us a straight answer. It felt like he was frustrated by our concern instead of helping...
Read moreI have had a cough that wouldn't go away for over a year. I went to Hudson Physicians to see what the problem was. I went to see a doctor to see what was wrong. There didn't appear to be anything wrong. They did an x ray and it came back fine. They gave me an inhaler to help with some wheezing that I had and sent me on my way. I went back 6 weeks later cause things weren't getting better. They did an x ray again and once again it came back fine. They gave me a couple different drugs to try to clear things up. Things still didn't seems to get any better so I went back again 2 other times after that. On the second to last visit they gave me a nasal spray to try something different and it seemed to help for a while, but once I got off it things went back to the way they had been. There was no refill for the prescription either(it was just generic Flonase). This last time I went in 3 weeks ago none of the symptoms had changed from the first visit. They had never run a blood panel to see where my blood was, so I asked the doctor if we could do a simple blood panel just to see what it said since I had never had one run. He also wanted me to get a CT scan of my sinuses. So I had both done. I never got anything in the mail about my blood results or even a call about what they said. I did get a call saying that my doctor said I should go see an ENT specialist at the clinic. So we set up an appointment for 2 weeks later. I was in and out of there in 10 minutes. Half of that was filling out paperwork. I was told that I had polyps in my nose and I just needed to keep taking Flonase all year around so they didn't get bigger and then need surgery to remove. This was an easy fix and nothing else was wrong. I never got a call from any of the doctors or nurses to see if things got better in all of my visits. If I had, I would have said things were better while I was on the nasal spray and then hopefully the doctor would said to keep taking it and then I wouldn't have gone in for all the other test and saved myself A LOT of time and money. I am now getting all the bills for this and its really adding up for something so simple as taking a nasal spray. I got charged for allergy testing on my blood work which was around $400 even with insurance and that's not what I was asking for or told I was having done! I believe that this hospital is only out for the money and they don't really care or listen to what the patient is saying. I am in the process of talking to the hospital about all these bills and charges for doing things that we never would have needed to do if a doctor/nurse would have called and just asked if the prescriptions where helping.
I just finished talking with billing at the hospital and explained my frustrations with my whole experience. The lady I dealt with was very nice and listened to my frustrations and looked into everything. She did say they were trying to work on their communication with their patients, which I was glad to hear. She did a great job with keeping me in the loop and I believe that they made things right with me in the end and that did mean a lot...
