La Rue Marché — Local services in Hudson

I bought a pair of shoes and walked around inside of a vacation rental and realized the strap wasn’t tight enough. I waited for the store to open the next day and then returned them. I had the receipt and they were only willing to give me a gift card ( store policy ). I’m 4 hours away from here. I was vacationing here so I’m not going to be able to use a gift card. There are NO signs anywhere to tell you this before you purchased the item and the cashier never told me this either. I asked her if she could call the owner hoping the owner would understand. I walked around and shopped and decided to ask for the owners number. As I was doing this I told the cashier that I don’t blame her and that I hope she can understand my frustration. A lady comes in who I think the owner or clerk knew and says why don’t you tell tge owner this clerk can’t do anything for you. I told her we were trying and she went on and on and I asked to please be quite and she continued to go on and I told her it has nothing to do with her and she still went on and I told her to stay in her own lane. She said fine I’m calling the cops. This was THE MOST AWFUL experience I’ve ever had. On the bottom of the receipt it says you can return things within 14 days and get a gift card. So you find out about this AFTER you pay for it. I was so upset and crying by the end I just left and took a 200 dollar loss. I wish I read the reviews before ever purchasing anything and hope this helps someone if they haven’t already purchased something.
