Don't buy your appliances here! You are not valued nor do they give a crap about the quality of your purchase.I bought my first fridge ever and decided to put my trust into Costco. As an executive member as card holder I was assured I would receive the best benefits from them however that was not the case.I went in to purchase my fridge and had to find someone to help the guy didn't ever acknowledge me but nodded grabbed a flatbed tossed it on and left me there to drag it to the front.I had no assistance with warranty or any other related information so I went to the register to pay .I then asked them cashier if there was any warranty or assistance on this fridge as it is new and my first large purchase for an appliance. He was stunned I hadn't received help.He called over some man not sure who he was seemed like some kind of lead or supervisor maybe .The guy then said only warranty they have is through Costco for 2 years and I again lugged it out by myself to the front.Later once we moved into our new home my father unwrapped the fridge only to find out there is damage to the front door and top of the fridge .This was a brand new fridge that was wrapped up mind you so I was essentially sold damaged merchandise at full price and offered no help to top it off .I could have just went somewhere else paid a little more for actual service and a new fridge as advertised that was my mistake!I contact Costco and speak to a few different senior managers one named Serena who offered me a $50 gift card on a $646.00 fridge and said I can take that or bring it back .I couldn't bring it back I have no truck or money to rent one nor do I have a fridge to put out food in so it doesn't spoil. Not to mention they don't have anymore in stock at that location.I then asked to speak to the store manager ,mind you at this point I had asked to speak to the store manager 3 times but kept getting different senior managers .I was then routed to Alyssa who said she is the assistant manager which again isn't the store manager .She then offered me $120 off the fridge and said that's all she could do unless I wanted to rent a truck and return it again .I explained I am a single mom ,I have no truck ,fridge or money to do this .That's all I was offered and was told that's the best they can do .I will be cancelling my Costco executive membership as well as my credit card due to the horrible customer service I received.I will take my money where it is appreciated because it is clearly not at Costco. They are only kind and helpful to you to have you get there membership and credit card once you do that they could care less. Also when I signed up for the credit card the girl had me input my house hold income told me to include anyone who lived with me and only my portion of the rent which never sounded right .I think they do this to get you approved for more to bring in more money for them which is disgusting to put people in that type of situation that clearly don't have the annual...
Read moreAVOID THIS LOCATION! Today while in checkout between 4-4:30pm a thin, blonde, white cashier lady with her hair tied up into a pony tail (named ADRIE) was extremely rude and condescending. I rarely go to costco and today I brought 2 guests (my boyfriend and his mom) and while in checkout I said we were together but doing two separate transactions and that i was only getting two items (which were already separated by the dividers.) I believe the lady asked if the paper towels left in the basket was for me, but I guess I didn't catch it since she phrased it in a weird way and I already stated what I was purchasing. Either way not a big deal, but then the cashier said "Well I just asked if you were getting the paper towels because I pointed to them but that's fine I guess," in a really snarky, condescending tone just to make me feel like I'm stupid. The comment was unnecessary but she really wanted to say her 2 cents 🤷♀️. After paying for my items, she asked the 2 guests if they had a membership and that they couldn't pay with their card on my membership 🙄. I understand she was just following policy so this point is mainly on Costco, but it’s ridiculous to bring 2 guests if they can't pay with their own card when they're just gonna immediately pay back the cardholder, costco is getting the same cash in the end so this is a bit much. Then I said I would just pay for them, and then the lady was making a big deal about it and trying to sell them a membership. I told her they were fine but she still kept pushing after several attempts to shut her down. I also think she might’ve been condescending (especially since this is HB) because my guests were Asian. Every time I come to this costco with my boyfriend there's always an issue with another customer or costco worker being rude to us for no reason, so it's really hard to pinpoint the common factor besides it being racism, poor customer service training, or both. And it's not shocking seeing how the other comments mentioned racism as well. I hate that this location they treat you like a criminal, racially profile guests, and are constantly rude and act like they hate their job WHILE trying to sell you memberships and other upgrades. I will not be coming back to this location and will go to GG instead which hasn't given me the same issues like this...
Read moreAfter getting the bums rush out the door of Costco, where we spent over $500 on tires, we stumbled across Pro Tire Auto Service around the corner, and couldn't have been happier. My friend made the "mistake" of using Fix-a-flat in one of his tires, which had picked up a small screw. The tires were purchased from Costco and only had 24k miles on them. Costco refused to remove the screw and patch the small hole, giving us a litany of nonsense about how the Fix-a-flat made that impossible.
Note: yes, Costco did the minimum by putting a note in small print on the bottom of the back of the receipt (#7 on the list) warning not to use Fix-a-flat. Too bad, like most small print, we didn't see it -- our fault. I would argue that something that -- they claim -- is serious enough to make the tire ineligible for the road hazard warranty, should be stamped in red on the front of the receipt, not hidden on the back. I look at this as a FAIL on the part of Costco, especially when another shop took care of the problem with a minimum of hassle -- we stood there and watched.
Enter onto the scene the car heros at Pro Tire Auto Service (Beach Blvd)... They tackled the problem with gusto. They removed the tire, took a couple of rags to clean out the Costco offending liquid, pulled out the screw, patched the tire and remounted it. Done! Fished! Maybe, maybe 15 minutes. Easy peasy lemon squeezy!
What's amazing about this experience is that Costco, a company with a clearly vested interest in keeping a couple of customers happy -- we used to buy a lot of stuff there, not just tires -- couldn't care less about solving our problem, much less providing a modicum of customer service. A service which, by the way, we would have happily paid for had they offered us that option.
Meanwhile, the little guy, the small business garage around the corner, took care of the us ON. THE. SPOT! And for a price that can't be beat.
I really have to ask myself, where do I want to do my business in the future? The faceless corporate behemoth, or the local little guy...?? I'll take Pro Tire Auto Service, over Costco, any day...
