I went here with my parents for Mother’s Day. I’d been before and loved it, but this time was unfortunately a bit rough. All 3 of us ordered savory crepes, but when our food was brought out, mine didn’t have cheese in it like it should have. Not a huge deal in and of itself, but they took the plate I had when I told them, so I couldn’t even eat anything with my mom on Mother’s Day. I didn’t care about getting extra food from the incident or anything, but it would have been nice to at least keep the potatoes that were inside the crepe so I had something to munch on and be able to eat with my mom instead of just sitting and watching them eat while I waited on the new crepe. Given that this happened on Mother’s Day, I was hoping they’d maybe offer a free or discounted dessert crepe or something, but nothing was offered. I’m not one to expect freebies from places, even when my order is messed up, but since it was Mother’s Day and it affected my mom’s meal too, I was hoping they at least offer something. I still ended up ordering a sweet crepe because it sounded good and we were all down to have some. I ordered one that had strawberries, bananas, and chocolate, as that is my favorite combo for a dessert crepe and I love having both fruits with the chocolate. They took my order, made the crepe, and the waiter brought it out after it had been made. Before he put it on the table, he informed us that they were out of bananas, so it was just strawberries and chocolate, and asked if that was okay. I felt put on the spot and in a very weird position since he was holding the crepe which had already been made and I didn’t know what to do. If they’d let me know before they made it, I would have said never mind as I like the combo of all 3 things and wouldn’t have ordered it without bananas, especially since I think they had just a strawberry and chocolate option, which I hadn’t ordered. I wasn’t sure what to say and just sat there for a minute and finally just kinda shrugged because I didn’t know what to do and he set the plate down and left. We ate it and it was fine, but we really missed the bananas. I was hoping they’d maybe comp or discount it after all that, but when the bill came, all they’d done was take 50 cents off the price of that crepe. It was all very disappointing, and more so since it was Mother’s Day and I don’t like her feeling bad about where we took her to eat, especially since it was my suggestion since I’d been before and enjoyed it. Before all this happened, I’d commented on how I wanted to go here more often since it’s not far from where I live and I like the location and the food. Unfortunately, after all that, I doubt I’ll end up going back, which is a bummer because someone who was I think the owner or manager delivered our food and chatted with us and seemed very nice, but the rest of the experience was disappointing. I’m not usually one to write negative reviews over things like this, as I’ve worked in the food industry and understand that mistakes happen, but the whole thing just felt like it was handled poorly by them, especially practically guilting us into still taking a sweet crepe that wasn’t what...
Read moreI wanted to like this place giving the promising photos and positive reviews, unfortunately, there was so many things that went wrong during our visit.
When we arrived, there was no one to greet or acknowledge us. There was a few tables occupied but it wasn't crowded. We literally had to chase a staff down and flagged her in order to get seated. 2. Once we ordered, the staff pretty much disappeared. We weren't giving any utensil or water until way later when they remembered. After 10 mins waiting for our foods, I scanned the tables and the staff was giving the white gloves services to everyone else except us. A couple new customers who just got seated was immediately brought some water and Utensils. Make me wonder if the way we get treated was because we're Asian and looks younger than all the other customers who was there. We ordered an appetizer, a breakfast item, a savory crepe, and a Bisous crepe for dessert. We specifically told the staff what each item was for and when we want them. 20+ minutes went by and the staff brought EVERYTHING out altogether. C'mon seriously?! What's the point of having different courses on the menu if you're going to bring everything out at once anyway? We were struggling to eat everything as fast as we could since the foods was getting colder and the dessert crepe with the ice cream was melting faster than we could eat. I was so frustrated with the lack of service and brain cells the staff at this place has. The foods was horrible. Almost like it was made with no love. My husband's breakfast eggs was raw and the potatoes was bland. The paté appetizer tasted like sand and the Baguette was cold and stale. My savory crepe had no flavors. The ONLY thing that tasted surprisingly better was the poor sad looking Bisous dessert crepe with the melting ice cream.
I've had a few French places around the OC and this place is by far the worst I've had in term of the service and the foods. If you're coming here on a hungry stomach. DON'T. Most of the good reviews are those who only ordered 1 or 2 items. Probably just a good place to go for coffee but nothing else other than that. Sadly, we won't...
Read moreNot sure exactly what to post. We finally made it for a visit and were quite surprised by our experience. The server seemed nice enough but was unaware of menu items which seemed surprising. Maybe they were new??? And owner/manager came to our table and was the nicest of the people we met. But we never saw them again. And one member of our party quickly realized their crepe was not made with all the ingredients. It felt very awkward to say something but when you pay $20 for a crepe it should be me correctly. The server finally came and did take the crepe which is understandable but also left us in another awkward situation because not every member of our party had food. We had also splurged on everyone getting a crepe they wanted so we didn't have anything to share because not everybody liked each other's crepes. Oh. And it was Mother's Day! And they didn't seem very busy. I was surprised that my crepe had ingredients all on the outside of the crepe. I've never seen this in a traditional French crepe. Maybe there's a region that does it, but it was very awkward and not appetizing to look at although it tasted okay. We then ordered a dessert crepe. Instead of coming out and telling us they were missing an ingredient and asking us if we wanted it. They brought out the incorrectly made crepe and told us. So once again we were left feeling awkward about what to do. There was no compensation for sitting on Mother's Day without everyone having a meal. There was no offer of any sort of compensation for the incorrect dessert crepe which again they could have come and asked us before they made it and saved all of us time and money. And then someone brand new came to bring our bill. They just gave us an off-putting vibe. It was a bad experience, especially for a special day. I'm always surprised when a restaurant doesn't acknowledge their mistakes and do everything they can to make your visit worthwhile, to make you want to return. Sadly, we will not be back. And we will not recommend. We will make food at home where everything tastes good, and everyone gets...
