They have a pretty large selection of new and used vinyl, but it seems to be a bit pricier than some of the other record shops in the region. The also have used cds, casettes, and I think I even saw some vhs tapes. If you are looking for used hard rock/heavy metal vinyl, you might be disappointed.
EDIT: Had to drop a couple stars after a recent visit. I found something I was interested in that was in the SALE bin. I placed it back and continued to browse. When I was ready to check out, I went back to get that record, and it was gone. I looked through all the SALE bins, but nada. Went to the register with my other selection and the cashier asked if I found everything OK or something like that. I said I thought I might be going crazy 'cause I couldn't find a record I had just looked at a few minutes earlier in the sale bin. Smiling, he said, you're not crazy, it was there. I said "it WAS?" He said someone just bought it. I was like, "who? There hasn't been anyone else up here." He said, still smiling, "I just bought it for myself." I told him there was another one in the regular bin but it didn't have a sale sticker. He informed me that he knew, and that I was more than welcome to purchase it at regular price.
I did not, though I did find it on Amazon, for about the same price as his sale price.
To me, it felt kinda like a "Richard" move, if ya know what I mean. I mean, he's the store owner, he could have offered me the other one at the sale price since, ya know, he didn't actually BUY the one, he's simply taking it at cost. For my musical tastes, there are no decent vinyl shops near me. I have to drive an hour to get to his store, but I won't ever again. I'll just stick to Amazon or eBay.
EDIT 2: (Response to owner) It was NOT a misunderstanding. You SPECIFICALLY told me I could buy the other copy at full price since I was already getting a good deal on the Type O...
Read moreWent to Now Hear This with my dad and he asked about a particular album. The owner (older guy) asked my dad if he wanted the album as a CD or an LP and my dad didn't know what LP meant so the owner condescendingly said "Do you want to play it in a record player or a CD player?" My dad told him CD so he said he'd check. When he found the album, he handed it to my dad. My dad noticed that the corners of the paper CD case were worn so he naturally tried to pull out the CDs to see the condition they were in. Then the owner said "That's taped. You can't look at it until you buy it." Then he went on to tell us that all their CDs are new and "guaranteed" to be in good condition, but it was obviously from the wearing on the paper CD case that it wasn't brand new. My dad wound up buying the album and the guy cut the tape to let him look at the CDs. One had some smudges and the owner said "Just take some Windex to it and it'll be fine." My dad was satisfied with the album as it was one he had been looking for, but the owner was awful to be around. I won't be going back to...
Read morevery good selection of newly released and used music here. they have cds, records, t-shirts, dvds, you name it. I had been to the store before, but this time took a friend to introduce him to it. we both walked out having found some cds as we both collect them.
there is a wide variety of artists and genres here. I believe I saw all of the cds from the various Dug Pinnick side projects, which really impressed me, that was something that I didn't expect to see in a store near my neck of the woods. I especially like the section they have of concert dvds. I didn't have the time to look through them all, but noticed they even offered a lot of bootleg concerts.
if you're a collector looking for some hard to find albums (or even bootlegs) or someone who just appreciates a well designed and laid out store, go check...
