Margaritas Mexican Bar and Grill — Restaurant in Huntington

We visited Margaritas Mexican Bar & Grill in Huntington, WV, after seeing how highly rated it was — and at the strong recommendation of our driver. Let me just say: they were absolutely right!

The restaurant is either brand new or extremely well-maintained. It was spotless, nicely decorated, and had a warm, inviting atmosphere. We were greeted immediately by friendly, clean-cut staff in uniform and seated promptly in our preferred spot without any issue.

Within moments, we were served fresh chips, salsa, and a delicious ranch-style dip that tasted like Cool Ranch Doritos in the best way possible. Of course, we had to try the queso too — creamy, flavorful, and not too spicy.

The real star of the evening though? The staff. Every single person we encountered was polite, well-dressed, and clearly took pride in their work. Marycruz, who served as both our bartender and waitress, was especially impressive. She was behind the bar mixing drinks, taking bar orders, answering phones, waiting multiple tables (including ours), and helping other team members — all while maintaining a kind, professional, and efficient demeanor. Her work ethic and multitasking were on another level.

Our drinks came out fast and strong, made by Marycruz herself. I ordered the Arroz con Pollo and my husband got the grilled chicken quesadillas with no onions due to a dietary restriction. The food came out fast, hot, and exactly right — no onions, no mix-ups, no delays. The portions were generous, and the flavor was excellent.

They kept the chips and drinks coming all night, and the service was flawless from start to finish. If you’re looking for delicious Mexican food with outstanding service in the Huntington area, Margaritas is absolutely worth your time. We may be based in Central Virginia, but we’ll be back — this place...

Hubby & I took a sunny Sunday afternoon convertible ride & headed toward a WV restaurant that had been featured in an episode of Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives. Unfortunately, so did lots of other folks. It was so busy, we just drove on past & headed into Huntington, near Marshall University, where we found this gem! The restaurant was very clean. We were promptly seated & our drink order taken. Chips, salsa & a Mayo/sour cream dip were whisked to our table. The menu was excellent…traditional items, but also some choices that were a little different. Both of our entrees were DELICIOUS! His - a chicken dish with chipotle crema sauce & mine a chicken/chorizo dish (that I ordered without the pineapple that came with it!) our server was friendly and the manager, Antonio, came to check on us & we learned the owner of this place was opening a restaurant much closer to where we live. If we are in the Huntington area, I will absolutely return to this restaurant. It was excellent! The only possible concern I saw (but didn’t experience due to the time we were there) was that the parking lot seemed tight. That might be a problem if the restaurant...

I regular here quite often. Best Mexican Restaurant in the entire area! My favorite is a chicken cheese quesadilla with jalapenos grilled with the chicken and it is beyond delicious. Their chicken I don't know how but it's next level good. The cheese topping the quesadilla is always a huge plus. I could come here on a full stomach and still eat. The staff is always friendly and welcoming as soon as you enter the door. We were sat immediately and asked table or booth, offered fresh chips/salsa/cheese dip as we waited. The chips were still hot! Orders are always fast, fresh and taste amazing. I highly recommend this Mexican restaurant and I'm definitely coming back for more Quesadillas and to try the rest...
