We enjoy Karaoke. We found Lisa's about a year ago. While we enjoy the people and atmosphere the Karaoke can be taxing. This is solely based on our experience over the 10 times we have patronized Lisa's. Please weigh my observations with the consideration that I am a self proclaimed Karaoke snob. First the advertised start time is 8pm actually starts around 9ish. They do have Karaoke Wednesday through Sunday. We have been there Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. The Sunday and Wednesday KJ has a great personality and knows how to use her Equipment sound is good and correct for the room she does make sure that the Singer is balanced to the music. The crowd is usually small with 5 to 6 singers and an audience of 15 or so. However the singer rotation is slow. Between the selection of your song after you are called to the stage and long filler music sets (sometimes 8 to 12 minutes btw that is equal to 2 or 3 singers). They do have an excellent karaoke music collection including Sound Choice, DK, Zoom, Chartbuster, and karaoke Version. The Thursday KJ is equally talented and a bit more karaoke friendly and faster rotation. We have only been to One Friday show and after waiting for an hour we left without singing. After waiting for the show to start and the First singer sang wewe announced as 2nd and 3rd but then the KJ got involved in an extended conversation with a very attractive lady at the booth for over 30 minutes. I assume that this KJ is the show producer at least that was the attitude he displayed that evening. We left without singing and have not and will not be back for another Friday or Saturday after that disappointing trip. We really like the Bar and the Staff and will continue to come in and sing a song or just hangout. Give it a try it may be...
Read moreA Hidden Gem for the LGBTQ+ Community – Thank You, Haley! Lisa’s Lounge is hands-down one of the most welcoming and safe spaces I’ve found in Alabama as a member of the LGBTQ+ community. Bars like this are rare here—places where you can truly relax, be yourself, and not worry about being judged. From the moment I walked in, I felt completely accepted. The vibe is super laid-back and chill, but somehow it’s still always a good time—whether it’s a packed Saturday night or a quiet Tuesday. There’s a real sense of community here, and a lot of that comes down to the amazing bartender, Haley. She’s not only friendly and professional, but she makes everyone feel seen and at home. You can tell she genuinely cares about the people who walk through those doors. Also, can we talk about the FREE food on weekdays? It’s such a nice touch, and it really adds to that “come-as-you-are, stay-a-while” atmosphere. If you’re looking for a bar where you can have fun, feel safe, and be authentically you, Lisa’s Lounge is it. Can’t...
Read moreThe place is good. Prices are good and they have a couple of pool tables, and dart boards. My only real complaints are, first off, the bathrooms were pretty bad. I know it's a bar, but come on. The second was, for me, a total let down. This place doesn't have a kitchen. No food is made here. That kills it for me, and many others I'm sure. Besides that, the drinks were good, made correctly, the service was good, and very nice, and the place all in all head a good atmosphere. I would go back, but the no food thing means it won't be one of my...
