If I could give zero stars, I would.

We brought our vehicle to Mavis Tire in Hampton Cove for a simple belt replacement on March 21. Hours later, we were told the car had fallen off the lift—backward—causing extensive damage: a new hood, bumper, step rails, and structural damage underneath. The total repair estimate was around $10,000.

At first, we were told Mavis would cover the costs and provide a comparable rental. But after that? Complete silence. No updates. No returned calls. The store manager was helpful but even they were ignored by the regional manager. After four weeks of being strung along, we had to escalate the issue to Mavis corporate leadership with threats of legal action and media involvement.

Only then did they finally respond—and eventually, they paid for the damages and a rental (not comparable to our vehicle). We still had to pay $660 out of pocket to have the original belt repair done elsewhere.

Quoted me $95 on an oil change yesterday, but they were busy, came in today when they were dead and had it done. As I dropped my keys off, we conversed about the oil change being the same price as me performing at home (roughly $100) with no inclination of a higher price. They performed the oil change then charged me $165. I told them what I got quoted yesterday and by whom, she said “that was the manager and today is his day off”. I asked her to dial him up to get clarification and was told they’re not calling him on his day off. Understandable, after my letting her know I would not in fact be paying $165 and they were free to call whomever they needed to about it, she lowered it to $127 which is very much appreciated, but not worth the hassle. Thank you, Mavis Tires! First, thanks for offering free air. I always wondered why air had to be purchased. This is a great resource. It is also grest for business and a nice touch to bring people into your store. The first time I came by was to get air in a tire and Bobby helped me. I told him then that I would back as I knew I needed to purchase new tires.
