Mid-Cities Antique Mall — Local services in Hurst

We come here multiple times a month, sometimes even several times a week, which is to say, we are here on a regular basis. We have spent ALOT of money here over the last several years because this is one of our favorite antique shops. But today will be our last visit. We will not return. My bag, which I have always worn on me every single time I have been here, was confiscated. This has never— not once— ever been an issue. Ever. We were rudely told that there are signs on both entrances clearly stating they do not allow large bags or purses, and they would have to keep my bag up front. I was wearing a cross body. Not sure that constitutes a “large” bag. To top it all off, there were MULTIPLE shoppers in store with significantly bigger bags than mine, and their’s were not confiscated. Nothing was said to them. I understand they are trying to prevent theft, but to be rude to loyal customers is not okay. I never want to leave bad reviews. I am in a customer service driven industry, so I always want to give grace and understanding as much as possible but the way the entire situation was handled was unnecessary and...

I used to frequent this place all the time ,but today is the last day I will ever go. I use to be treated nicely, when I bought something and even when I couldn't find any treasures. Today, I was there with my wife looking for vintage children books. After a quick search we found one took it to the front. There was three ladies present, one of the associate greeted me, she was counting down her register so she asked me to go to the other register. We did and we waited there....waited and kept waiting. We finally got acknowledged when a lady turned around I said "hello" she even greeted me. Then quickly turned back around and watched the other young lady count money. So frustrated, I literally walked out vowing it would be the last time I would step foot in there. I get it man, it's covid and customer service is tough. I've myself worked customer service...

I have always loved coming here. Today was a different story. I came in a little late and was trying to quickly some items before close at 6pm. When I approached the register it was 5:56 pm. The cashier was quite rude to me claiming that it was "After 6, and she wasn't going to do this again." She also doubled down on her attitude saying, "We have families we want to get home to." I understand that taking late customers can be frustrating, but I did my best to check out before 6. Usually this place has very kind workers so this was quite off putting for me. I have also never seen this employee before. The whole interaction came off as very snarky and unprofessional. I don't know if I will be coming back after this...
