Great park! Very clean with lots of trash cans, doggie stations and even a couple porta johns. Baseball, soccer, open fields, sand volleyball, handicap-accessible playground (there is a special swing you can put a baby in and swing with them) and wooded walking trail area. I was most interested in the wooded part, as you can see by my pictures and I was also very impressed. The paved trails are wide enough for two wheelchairs to roll side by side and allow a person to pass going the other way. There are also a lot of unpaved paths winding through the trees that are easy to traverse and hard to get lost in, and even a couple secluded campfire areas. The surrounding neighborhood is very quiet (around noon on a Friday anyway), with no major roads or highways nearby, so I didn't just hear the sounds of the city as I was walking. Away from the pavement, it almost felt like I was way out in the country somewhere. Very peaceful! Also this is the first place I've ever seen where the speed limit is 16, which added to the charm, imho.

I love this little park. I usually feel safe walking my small dog, but lately, people who believe it's okay to let their dogs run without a leash have increased. Sad because there are signs posted everywhere with instructions about keeping dogs on leashes. It only takes a second for an unleashed dog to dart out after someone or something or even into the road. I wish these people were more responsible and had more consideration for others in the park! NOT Cool!

We loved it! We came here to watch the fireworks show on Fourth of July weekend and it was espectacular! We enjoyed it a lot, it was one of the best fireworks show we have ever been to! There is plenty of space to sit and watch. There are lots of parking spots all around and in the park. We are definitely coming back here next year we had a great time!!!

I go to this park once a week. I play a larping game called Amtgard, a good dozen or more people visit at this park every Saturday at 1pm rain or shine. We are a very friendly group and always welcome new people and even spectators who just want to watch. We repect the on lookers and their space when they just want to spend time with their kids at the playground. A good few of our members have kids also and they love making new friends. We are not satan worshipers and we do our very best to maintain the park to a clean and friendly environment for everyone, even the people that do not play amtgard.

The only issue I have with the park is the restroom facilities. I would love to see a nice restroom facility built one day with proper functioning restrooms. I think that would really drive in more people to stay longer and not go to the gas station down the street just to...

Second visit. Expecting the lights to turn on at a set time helped. The big note for the update is to be sure to reserve the space with the City. A church group showed up and tried to take over but we had the reservation and they moved on. Pay thr fee to ensure you get to use the space!

Previous: Provided code gave access to a light switch that didn't do anything. Luckily some lighting came on at a set time. Grill was sufficient for our needs the several trash cans where very accommodating. Over all a fine expirence. Hurst is lucky to have...
