My daughter took her sister for her birthday on the 19th to shop there for a few things it was $30 bucks unbelievable hopefully things will change after all of us complaining of what is happening to this store
Well what an unexpected surprise this evening spoke with the CEO David goes to show you if you're passionate about something you will reach your desire outcome
I was grateful that I was able to speak with him briefly I have grave concerns of what is happening to this store which was so profitable and so wonderful to shop at not anymore
this store has lost the concept of thrifting and is turned it into greed and thievery these clothes and beautiful things are donated given freely
there's no need to excessively charge unless you're just trying to shut down the doors at Texas thrift
I understand you're trying to compensate for your new big registers over there but at what price who's behind this idiotic decision???
your being very successful at heading towards a great loss financially as well as customers leaving harshness needs to be presented at this moment with y'all because strategy is lost and seemingly the only concept is gain of money
there is only two shelves in the back unbelievable this stores lost a lot of it's goods that we customers look forward to
The shorts are overpriced everything is overpriced extremely
Go back to your humble beginnings!
those new machines are so big and takes up a lot of space I cannot believe everything is gone
That's what happens when the wrong people are left in position this company has got the Titanic mentality and what happened to the Titanic It hit icebergs because of arrogancy because of being proud
Don't be like the Titanic and have that mindset or you'll sink From one who's been attending and shopping here for many many years
hopefully they're going to lower the prices back down put the shelves back with all the things and not mess up the profitability here
if you're going to take everything away and exaggerate the process then you might as well change the name Texas thrift
Because in reality it's no longer the Texas thrift store sadly David has no faith in meeting with me a longtime customer
well that's his loss you guys know nothing but spreadsheets You're not paying attention and this will cost you I hope that the store takes a really good look at what it's...
Read moreNew review 09/17/25: âThey again no longer have dressing rooms, and also have a 'no returns, no refunds' policy, so if it doesn't fit, "oh well" I guess? đ Money down the drain. Also, good luck finding an outlet to plug something in to test it. âThey do now have color tag sales, three or four per week, at various discount levels. I suppose this is to make up for lack of coupns or a loyalty rewards program. âThey also no longer provide a discount coupon if donating. âTheir new checkout system needs work; they look open and available for self-use, but policy is to have employees do it. If that's the case, put them behind the counter again. They also have way too many installed for the number of employees they have on the floor at any given time. âAll in all, it gives very much an "EcoThrift" vibe, but with enough differences to not be an EcoThrift store. (Old review follows) They have changed things a bit, and have become more acceptable a store since my first review. They now have dressing rooms and an electronics testing area. They have not started a rotating color tag system yet, but now have 99cent Mondays on the previous week's tag, and a donation of bagged clothes will get you a 30% off coupon for a future visit. They do now have a "No Returns" whatsoever policy, much like others, but given the fact you can test things out and try items on, it's less of a drawback than before. They still have some things to work on, IMO, but I have upped my rating from 2 stars to 3 for now. [Previous review below] Worst policies of any thrift store I visit. They say they're following corporate policies, but I highly doubt it. They finally installed a "privacy curtain" so we might be able to try on things. They say their color tag sales are random, not a structured rotation like Thrift Town; any returns must have tags on and the receipt, and you only get store credit AND you have to use it that. same. visit. Did I mention you only have a week to do that, too? In the 6 or so months they've been open, they've remodeled at least twice. I like knowing where things ARE dangit! Oh, and the finally started a frequent shopper program, only to discontinue it after a month. Really?! Ever heard...
Read moreThe assisted check outs make no sense - either you're full self checkout or you're not. So now you have 8 registers, and only 3-4 open because there's too many people for the staff to handle up there.... so what was the point. Even with all of them open, it's too crowded up there. I'm suffocated while bagging my stuff and pressed up against someone else's shopping cart and a staff member. Staff members scan things and then just walk away or are in my way while I bag my things. Like move or help me bag??? I don't know. Or if they do just walk away after they scan my things... like what was the point???????? I could have done that myself. If someone wants to steal, they're stealing before they even come up to the register. But honestly, no disrespect to the staff. I never had a problem with them before all of this change.
Flow of store is off. I collect toys, so I'm just speaking for the toy section. They put the dolls right next to the back employee doors, and I've been hit on multiple trips by the swinging doors. That's very dangerous for children especially!! And when the door is propped open, I can't access the dolls at all. The 2 toy aisles are also not in a good spot. There's a column with a mirror in the middle of the aisle, so people fill the aisle with their carts to try on all the clothes they have. This leaves people with very little room to look at the toys. The other side of the aisle is right next to the couches / chairs/furniture, and the people that sit there and congregate to sift through their carts of stuff also make if difficult for me to navigate the area and actually look at toys. It was better when the couches / chairs were facing a bigger open area, instead of being 2 feet away from shelves.
I've been annoyed at all this for weeks now. I was waiting for a really busy 50% off sale to really judge the efficiency of the new registers and layout of the store... I was not impressed. And I understand this is a business and not all decisions will please everyone, but I'm actually really sad to see this from Texas Thrift. I've loved Texas Thrift for about 10 years, from Austin to DFW. I'm sad to feel the decline in...
