Discover the newly revamped DTLR! I had the pleasure of attending its grand opening, and it's clear that this iconic retailer has outdone itself. DTLR, originally founded as Downtown Locker Room, has been a trailblazer in urban fashion retail for decades, consistently setting trends and shaping streetwear culture.
This refreshed location beautifully honors DMV culture while infusing an energetic vibe reminiscent of NYC. The music sets an upbeat tone, perfectly complemented by the dynamic store layout and vibrant atmosphere. DTLR has always emphasized not just selling fashion but creating an immersive cultural experience, and this store is no exception.
You'll find an impressive array of products from globally recognized brands such as Nike, Jordan, New Balance—especially celebrated for its legacy style in DC—Ed Hardy, Armani Exchange, Puma, Polo, Under Armour, Adidas, and many other local urban fashion labels. DTLR takes pride in partnering with vendors who resonate with the urban community, supporting both established and emerging brands.
DTLR’s impact extends beyond fashion; it plays an active role in uplifting the community. Through initiatives like youth mentorship programs, sponsorships of local sports teams, and community events, DTLR fosters connections and provides opportunities for growth and development. Their commitment to social responsibility includes collaborations with local organizations to support education, health, and cultural awareness programs, making a meaningful difference in the neighborhoods they serve.
The staff’s friendliness and helpfulness only enhance the shopping experience, making you feel welcomed and valued. Read moreGood afternoon, I visited the DTLR In PG Plaza . I do frequent this store and I have never had a bad experience. Their selection never disappoints. So this visit I was just browsing spending money that i don't have and I saw this shirt that I really loved. They didn't have my size but I tried a few sizes bigger because I loved it so much and it didn't look like it would work out that way. So I settled for the shirt in a different color, and when I say settle, I mean settle because I really wanted the color of the shirt that didn't fit me. So LATISHA SPEIGHT saw my struggle and when I got to the register she inquired about why didn't I get the other color and I told her. She looked up the shirt and told me that it's showing that there's a small in the back. She asked me to wait while she went and looked and CAME OUT WITH THE SHIRT IN MY SIZE! Now this may not seem like a big deal, or like "something she was supposed to do" but people DON'T DO THAT! You normally have to ask a sales associate to look for something...she legit offered even after I had already moved on. Great customer service goes a long way and she definitely deserves to be acknowledged. She wasn't the only person in the store who saw me change my options, but she was the only person who extended a hand and honestly I really appreciate it and I just wanted to let you all/her know. She heightened my experience and made me feel like my satisfaction truly mattered and honestly that meant a great deal to me. Please encourage her to pass her great customer service skills along and continue to be an example of how customer service is done the right way. Shout out to Letisha. (She made me so happy I ended up coming right back and buying more stuff because she just left me on such a positive note) Love her and...
Read moreThis location barely answers the phone when you call. I ordered a pair of Jordan's online and never received a confirmation email from the store. I called the store for 2 days to find out the process and had no answer. I ended up going to Laurel location and buying the same shoe there. I go to the store on Saturday to return the online purchase and get my money back. The sales rep says oh if you want your money back, you have to deal with customer service because I can't give you your money back, but I can give you a store gift card.""" Like WTH!! I said I didn't pay with a gift card, so irritating. I won't be shopping at DTLR again for any online purchases. I asked why they didn't answer the phone at this location? Their response was oh we never answer on drop days, but today (Saturday), no shoes dropped. They looked at each other and said oh. I was in the store 30 minutes and watched them just let the phone ring and ring and nobody ever answered. Not good...
