Chipotle Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Maryland

I’m a frequent visitor to this location and have always tried to overlook the subtle biases that, unfortunately, come with being a Black woman in public spaces. I usually keep those feelings to myself because, sadly, I’ve grown used to them. But today was different—and hurtful enough that I felt the need to speak up.

I came in, as I often do, and ordered a kid’s taco meal. I’m pregnant and have celiac disease, which makes that option safer for me—though my dietary needs shouldn’t be anyone’s business or a reason for judgment. While placing my order, I noticed side glances and quiet remarks coming from the front. At first, I tried to brush it off—until a woman near the cashier looked at me with clear disgust, said something I couldn’t fully catch, and then turned away. The cashier then started laughing.

What exactly was so funny? Why the judgment? Is my presence offensive simply because I don’t look like you? It’s disheartening—especially considering that as minorities, we should be standing in solidarity, not dividing ourselves further through prejudice.

That experience completely changed how I feel about this location. It was unkind, unprofessional, and unnecessary. I will not...

I ordered a chicken bowl at 9:10 PM. And the meat was raw and gave me a whole stomach virus ..... I had to call out a work for the past 4 days. Because I've been throwing up and It feels like I have diarrhea. I've literally pooped 7 times in the past two days and it's been water . I honestly feel terrible. Having a stomach virus because of salmonella is the worst feeling that anyone can have. It is debilitating and it dehydrates you like if it's not summer time already. I almost feel like my love for chipotle has faded with the pain that I've had with this raw chicken infection. What's crazy is that they had this whole like dirty lettuce thing couple years ago and I had actually stopped going to them for a couple months and when I felt like the fear of getting infected with dirty lettuce was away I went back to them but as of right now I feel like I don't ever need to go back to Chipotle cuz like how do you have raw chicken. The chicken that I got after 9:00 p.m. was absolutely chewy and I honestly spit it out because I couldn't swallow it and I still got a whole stomach virus and I'm now in the hospital for this...

The worker decided to greet me to the restaurant by announcing to me that they were all out of cheese and I couldn’t help but to notice all of the workers were setting up for closure even though the hours posted stated 10:00 am - 10:00 pm. Even though, I was taken back I decided to still proceed unfortunately. After, making the customer”s in front of mine food, my food, and then closing out the customer in front of me . She then proceeded to wipe her had with the same pair of gloves she used to serve across the counter and then attempted to prepare my boyfriend’s food because I noticed this and he clueless , I politely asked her to change her gloves before preparing his food she then turned to her coworker and aggressively said something in a Spanish language and then proceeded to walk away.
