This was once an outstanding review here… I’m sad to say things changed for the worse…
I have been coming here for years and have always enjoyed the experience in general.
In recent times I’ve accidentally walked out on the bill - (I fully acknowledge this is my honest mistake).
When I’ve gone back there I was told by Nyzeeria & Rush that I forgot to pay the bill… I took their word for it and paid my outstanding balance at that time. Trusting them that they would close out the tab accordingly.
Tonight I went there and was approached by the manager (kindly and apathetically) that there were “a few times I walked out on the bill).
I assured him that I have since closed out the bill in past visits there. He went along his way, although I thought to myself, how odd that he approach me about this now.
After a few minutes I decided to approach the manager and ask him if his meaning was that I still had an “outstanding balance”… he said, yes.
I was taken aback and politely assured him that although have no proof; I have settled the outstanding balances.
Since I have no proof and the balance is still “outstanding”, I decided to pay it in full and have the matter done with while the manager was present. $97.83
I asked the manager if my meal for the night was included in the bill, he said no. I expressed that I would like to cancel the order for the night even though he offered to have that meal be “on them”.
Basically I was set up so they could get more money from an already faithfully returning customer.
They know I already paid the outstanding bills… they also know I wasn’t careful and trusted them and their morals to not take advantage of a situation.
As I was leaving the bar I heard Nyzeeria tell the other young lady sever that “she’s ’bout to put a salmon special on her tab” the meaning here is that’s my salmon that I was to be having tonight. Enjoy.
If you know anything about the time-value of money, you would know that a one-time unfair surplus is nothing in comparison to having a returning customer, which you have lost permanently.
You should keep your receipts and your wits about you at this place. I wish I had. Not trustworthy in the slightest and they know it; but they will smile in your face nonetheless. Karma is there for all...
Read moreI've always liked Outback Steak house. We had not gone out in a long time and had looked forward to eating at Outback Steakhouse. We always went to the Outback steakhouse in Hyattsville, MD located within the PG MALL area. We were seated at table 28 next to a table with a large group that was celebrating some occasion. The waitress came by in the beginning to take our order. We took a little time to review menu since the menu food selection had changed. We placed our order which included an appetizer and a meal selection and ordered drinks and bread. The appetizer was served but our main course meal was never delivered. The waitress kept on catering to the large group and also to other people who arrived after us. She kept on moving around the other tables but would not stop at ours to check up on us. We waited patiently thinking well she is busy. After waiting for a long time, we got her attention. We asked her about our meals and her response was "they have not delivered your meal yet?" We said no. Our table was within her eye sight--we were right across in close proximity to the table with the large group. She never said let me check to see what happened, she was apologetic but we noticed that she continued to take the food orders of people who had arrived after us, and who were getting their meal selection served while we were still waiting for our food, and again she never checked back with us. We noticed she was delivering the food to the other tables. Finally we called her to our table and told her our main course was never delivered so please cancel our order. She apologized but we told her well you served everyone else including those who arrived after us. She never checked back with us throughout the wait. By that time we were upset and cancelled our main course. We left telling the front desk personnel that the service was terrible. We were not rude and waited patiently for a long time as we noticed that she was serving everyone else and checking back to see if they needed anything but she would not come to our table. Again we were never rude. Total disappointment. Will not...
Read moreUnfortunately, my family experienced a truly abhorrent experience dining at this restaurant on 3/15. Our server, a larger woman with glasses and a short ponytail, was incredibly impatient as she was taking our order. My daughter, who is 8, read the menu verbatim which simply states “fruit juice”. I asked her to clarify which juice she would like which prompted my husband to ask, “what juices do you all have?” The waitress, already being very short with us, named orange juice, apple juice, and cranberry juice. My other daughter then asked for apple juice.
My husband asked if pineapple juice was available, after which the waitress replied yes. The girls then wanted to change their drinks to pineapple juice after receiving this new information. The waitress became annoyed and in a tone completely inappropriate to use towards a child, looks at my daughter and says “so what it is Apple or pineapple juice?” I responded by stating that she very clearly just asked for pineapple and that would have been her first choice had she listed ALL of the juice options like we’d asked. As my husband begins to order, she rudely cut him off and continued addressing our children grilling them about the juice they wanted.
At this point, I requested a different server. She stormed off to the kitchen, where the staff seemed more focus on supporting her through a tantrum (that could’ve been avoided had she simply listed all of the juice options OR the kids’ menu didn’t simply state ‘fruit juice’), than serving my family. Afterwards we waiting over an hour for food which we eventually had to have boxed because the wait was that long.
Again, it is truly disheartening that an adult woman who works in the service industry would speak in such a demeaning tone, especially to children. This restaurant should invest in quality customer service training...
