Ethan Allen — Local services in Indianapolis

If I could give this store a 0, I would, but you have to give it a rating or the review won't go through. My mother is 90 years old and was sold a "bill of goods" at this store. She, unfortunately, ordered some custom made rugs at the advice of her "decorator," Emma. She didn't think the rugs would work but took Emma's word for it and ordered them. She waited over 3 months to get them and when they FINALLY came, they were dirty and did NOT go well at all with her furniture and furnishings. When her caretaker took her back to the store to talk to them personally, she was told over and over, "you signed the contract." The rugs cost her almost $4,000.00 and they did not offer to make one single compensation with the exception of cleaning these BRAND NEW $4,000.00 rugs!!! My mother had also spent a LOT of money there buying things for her new condo. She also had cushions made that didn't fit right on her chairs and cost over $800. I would NEVER recommend this store to ANYONE if you are wanting quality items and/or to receive compensation for damaged items or items that just don't turn out right. They wouldn't even allow my mother to take home the store sample and did not advise her on ordering and paying for a larger sample of the rugs she ordered. At 90 years of age, I think most people would agree they took advantage of her BIG TIME. This actually IS a crime in Indiana to take advantage of the elderly and we are still in the process of fighting this. ...

I was a bit overwhelmed when I walked into the doors of Ethan Allen. Although it had good bones, my house had been a busy one over the last twenty years and had become outdated. Our goal was to lighten up the entire first floor living space as well as create more seating options to accommodate a growing family and bigger gatherings. I needed an expert who was both knowledgable and patient and a store with a wide variety of options yet not so big that it made it hard to finalize anything.

Ethan Allen fit the bill perfectly. Great options of high quality long lasting furniture alongside a very helpful staff. Blessed to meet Mary on my initial visit. She became a true parter through this whole endeavor; visiting the house free of charge to take measurements and get grounded on what could be. Their in-house 3D software allowed us to visualize everything from colors to furniture combinations and even some accessories. That was instrumental in giving us the needed confidence to more easily make the right decisions. We couldn’t be more pleased with the outcome and have received many compliments on the changes made.

Mary Larson is a fabulous designer. She’s service oriented and goes the extra mile to advise me. She has a mastery of the entire product line at Ethan Allen and could spot at a glance the perfect selection of furniture or accessories to style our new cottage in Michigan as well as our home in Zionsville. Mary has helped me layer our current design in Zionsville with new updated features as well as helped me furnish my entire home in Michigan to make it mine. She often stays overtime too, to help me and will answer my txt messages in a very timely fashion. One of the best characteristics about Mary is her ability to make me laugh. I always enjoy seeing her and working with her. She is so funny, knowledgeable and helps me make good decisions about picking the right products for my homes.
