The Container Store — Local services in Indianapolis

Lots of containers! One thing that if the store were more utilitarian (containers for heavier tools, impact cases, waterproof and weatherproof stuff, hardcore containers) would make this place 5 stars otherwise is the staff. Our register clerk went ABOVE AND BEYOND. Not only the nicest person we have met out here, she gave us a pretty good (totally unexpected and uncalled for) discount just because we were all having such a good time checking out. She was the most helpful, informative, understanding... I don't know how to say it enough.

But, one employee can't save a review. If it we're just her, this review would be 5++++ stars.

Imo, containers are a utility and this place is like 90% form over function, at least as a guy that's what it seems like to me. It seems more like a world market for (arguably?) functional decoratives- pretty and beautiful decorative containers rather than containers for work and utility. That's not to say there aren't useful containers here.. it's a container store, you can use them for anything, but I'd love to see them have a section for the handy men and women next to the heavy duty shelves with some various sizes pelican style cases, tool boxes, and more resiliant boxes bins and containers... as it stands this place is more geared towards someone like my wife. I still managed to find some nice organizing cabinets for my smaller tools... but if the plain utility container variety were fleshed out, this would be 4-5 stars for a...

I ordered several items from the Container Store to get my daughter's apartment set up (moved several states away). One of the items was a case of Tubular Hangers that we have used for several locations. These were ordered well over a month ago. No communication on the fact that these have been back ordered for awhile. No email updates on what the delay was or that there was a delay. While this sounds like a small thing, it is not. It is a symptom of bigger issues in their protocols. The store has the hangers. Why can they not have the store send a case to the distribution center to complete / fulfill the long delayed order? Now, I have cancelled that order and will go to the store myself and purchase them. I will then have to pay for shipping and pay a higher price (since I used my discount coupon -- now expired since it has been a month!!). Add on the time and effort on my end to play detective and find out where the order was...Ridiculously Poor Service!!! Very disappointed that employees are not empowered to do the right thing! Fair well Container Store! Amazon will be getting my business...

We recently used Container Store to purchase a closet system. Prior to the purchase, we met with Hanna. She was excellent and helped us design a closet system that would work for us. No “selling” involved, just education and walk through of the available options. After our purchase, we did find that our order was missing a few items so we had to go back in store to swap a few things and get the remaining items. Jeremy was extremely helpful in processing this at the moment we came in, versus telling us to just call into customer service. There was another lady that helped us with processing the swap, return, and fulfillment of missed items, but we didn’t catch her name.

Overall, an amazing experience and part of the reason we continue to return to The Container Store. It may be premium prices for some things, but the quality of items and proactive service keeps us coming back. Well done team,...
