Valentine’s Day Break-up (Save your relationship, DON’T GO HERE)
I’ll make the play-by-play short because who wants to stick around for that…
I’ve purchased hundreds of Davidoff cigars from Blend over the years, I usually buy boxes. In fact, I currently have more than 400 Davidoff cigars in a Humidor which I affectionately call my “Davidoffidor” (see pic). Almost all of them were purchased from Blend. Although I have purchased hundreds of cigars from them, I haven’t frequented the lounge that often, maybe 10 times. Here’s the break-up…their employee wasn’t pleased that I lit up a cigar not purchased from them, even though I made him aware that I’ve purchased 100’s of cigars from them previously - including 6 the week before ($200). I had one of those sticks with me, but my wife asked me to smoke the smaller of the two cigars I brought. I also pointed out that we already purchased $30 worth of drinks. (FYI - $30 gets you an Old Fashioned and a cup of coffee) His response was “I’ll let you finish this time” and “you can’t smoke here without a cut fee”. (He didn’t explain what a cut-fee is) I then pointed to the DD cigar I bought the week before and asked “what would your reaction be if I were smoking that one?” He said “I would give you the benefit of the doubt.” “We have rules and you know them.” Well, in fact I didn’t know them, I still don’t…but I also have rules. Don’t treat me like that. I avoid places where staff uses phrases like “we have rules”, I’m not a 21 yo frat boy burning a cigar to death. Most importantly, I don’t pay people to treat me that way. It’s important to note that after having this conversation, he dropped the check and didn’t offer any additional service to us. You know, on...

Beautiful place, friendly staff, full line of Zino’s cigars etc. Most all things at the top end of the price spectrum. No problem, it was like a fine dining experience. Here in INDY, the Flagship store, I ate a grilled ham and cheese Panini $16.00, okay. I smoked a GOF by Don Carlos $25.00, great. BUT, $35.00 for an Angel’s Envy Rye Olde Fashioned. Why? I inquired, the server said that it was because they do a 3oz pour. The mixologist behind the bar, a tall, mustached fellow wearing a white shirt and waist coat, made a beautiful clear, slightly sweet (by my request) Angels Envy Rye Olde Fashioned, served in a round highball glass with square cube. But $35.00. No, it was not a 3oz pour and I drink Olde Fashioned’s all over the world. I just had one in Zurich and Paris a month ago neither was $35.00, Francs nor Euros. Personally, I feel like the price was exorbitant. Beautiful place, traditional fine cigar/dining experience. The staff was attentive and friendly, especially the cigar barista. Great. The food, sandwiches and charcuterie. Okay. But, the price of that drink was exorbitant. My money has sweat on it; and no matter how much I do or do not have I like to spend it reasonably. Overall 3.8/5.0 based on the drink price. Maybe they don’t need my money or my inclusion. The world is filled with subtle...
Read moreHORRIBLE SERVICE! We walk in and there’s no one to greet us so we walk around and find the humidor ourselves. Once we are in there for about 5 minutes someone finally comes in and asks if we need help so my husband starts asking questions about different cigars and prices and asks for a recommendation for one with a mild flavor and he shows him the most inexpensive cigar they had. Just because someone asks about the price doesn’t mean they can’t afford a more expensive one. Whatever, we finally get to our table and it takes almost 20 minutes to get a $15 drink that’s about 2 ounces total with one huge ice cube in the cup so I literally drank the whole thing in one sip. Tasted good though. No one ever came back to check on us and we were there well over an hour. I had to get up and find someone to bring our check. It was around $26 and my husband paid with a $50 and the guy had the audacity to ask “do you need change man or you good” ummm yes we need change the service was awful. The worst part of the whole night was after we got our change we walked up to the front and took a couple of photos in front of the Blend logo and then walk outside and some guy who we have not seen once all evening comes out literally running after us and says “you need to come back inside and pay your tab!” WTF how rude! You haven’t helped us at all, all evening and you assume we left without paying! I will never...
