An Ode to the Captain of the Ship: My Experience at the Speedway Plaza UPS Store Five stars simply don't do it justice. Every time I step into the UPS Store at Speedway Plaza, it's a masterclass in efficiency, leadership, and customer service, all thanks to the owner and operator, Cory DeMarco. As a fellow small business owner, I've walked away inspired and impressed, thinking, "I need to tighten up my game and be more like this guy." The first time I met him, the store was humming. Even though he was busy, Cory took the time to chat with me, a new face and fellow entrepreneur. I came bearing a gift bag of branded goodies from my business, Elite Affordable Movers, and he immediately made a connection, not just as a vendor but as a potential partner. He opened my eyes to services I never knew a UPS store offered, like truck wrapsâwho knew?! It was a glimpse into his strategic thinking. A few days later, I returned to find a line out the door. The crew was on fire, with three registers open, and there was Cory, tackling the "elephant in the room" (the massive line) with a calm, focused intensity. Then, a teenager tried to cut in front of 17 women and me. Without missing a beat, Cory politely but firmly directed him to the back of the line. Two points for UPS. When my turn came, I was called to his register. He remembered my name, asked about my wife (the genius behind the gift bag), and handled my small transaction with the same grace and attention heâd shown earlier. It was more than a simple transaction; it was a personal connection. Cory is the ultimate captain. He's always on the front lines, doing the grunt work with his team, all while handling "king's business" by networking and building relationships. He leads by example, keeping his employeesâand the customersâon point. The entire operation is smooth sailing, a finely tuned machine flowing across the plaza with a five-star flag flying high. To Cory DeMarco: You deserve a raise and a well-earned day off. You've made a lasting impression on this business owner. Bravo! â Josh, Elite...
Read moreI walked into the UPS store in Speedway on Crawfordsville rd today (8/15/20), and i started pulling up my label on my phone that i needed scanned for an Amazon return. I was called over by a gentleman not sure of ethnic background, but when I got to his register he was very rude. I told him I was waiting for my label to pullup when he told me to move and have someone else come over to wait on. I politely told him it's pulling up, and i just needed a second. I showed him my phone as he seen it was loading,, because you could see the label appearing. He then told me I can go to Amazon and drop it off and that I don't have to be there. While it was pulling up he kept attacking me with comments and insults until I looked up at him and said are you going to keep going on talking about me. After that I told him I wanted a manager to file a complaint and said he didn't care, and I can take my package to Amazon in Plainfield. This was the worst UPS Store I ever been too.. Many people in there said the same thing, that this was uncalled for. I seen someone with there phone video taping, so donât be surprised if this get shown. i was embarrassed and humiliated in the store,, because he was in a rush.
There was know excuse he can say for the attack. If you look at the video you can see i kept my cool and left. I feel that this needs to be addressed. So many excuses for why people act that way in the store, but there's no excuse you can use i didn't deserve the disrespect, and i will be calling filing a complaint. If you don't want the job you have theres a lot of people that would take it. I usually go to the Avon and Rockville UPS store where you get treated as a person not badly. I would of video taped this, but I noticed it doesn't always affect the person that did the wrong they go after the stores. In this case I like the Avon and Rockville UPS stores so I felt addressing it this way to touch on one...
Read moreAbsolutely the WORST delivery service. I told them deliver my package after 4:30 pm. They tried to deliver at noon. It said it was at pickup facility, I went there to pick it up they said itâs not there. They tried to deliver the next day at 10am (again not after 4:30 pm which was my scheduled time). Again it said it was ready for pickup at facility and the lady said it wasnât there. She said to call customer service. I called customer service they gave me proof of delivery receipt saying it was in fact at the pickup location and was ready for pickup. I showed it to the lady. She said âthatâs not trueâ and stopped serving me. Then they send me an email saying I can file a claim that my package was lost with a link. I go to the link, fill out the form, then the website gives me an error message saying âyou canât file a claim on this packageâ. I called customer service again and they started an âinvestigationâ and claimed Iâd get a call by 7pm. I started to get a call I picked up they said it was UPS Customer Center and I said âdid you find the package?â Then they hung up on me. I got an email saying theyâd call back again by 7pm but itâs currently 6:58 pm and I havenât got a call. I called Zumiez support because they were the place I ordered from and they are filing it as stolen by UPS carrier because clearly Iâm getting a runaround. Will never use UPS again if I can avoid it. I donât know why anyone would want such an incompetent business handling anything they pay for. I was understanding of the issue at first but at this point this is just people not doing their damn jobs. SMH. And they werenât going to let me file a claim so they could just absorb the package and not give...
