Miyako Express — Restaurant in Los Angeles

I called this place an hour and a half before closing — twice — and guess what? No one answered. Cool, whatever. I still pulled up 20 minutes before closing (being nice, mind you) and was told they were already closed.

When I asked about the hours that are literally posted online, the Mexican lady at the front cut me off mid-sentence and hit me with, “It’s a slow night, we’re trying to close out.” Like girl… then lock your doors and turn off your lights! Don’t stand there giving attitude to people just trying to grab some food.

And the kicker? As soon as I walked out, they turned the lights off like I was the last episode of a show they were over watching. Dramatic much??

I’ve been here plenty of times — even last weekend around the same time — and had zero issues, slow night or not. But after tonight? Nah. Y’all won’t be seeing another...

The sushi is fine. It's pretty but I dnt know y it seemed to lack flavor. It's affordable. We got california and spider roll..I messed up on the teriyaki though. I dnt eat peoples chicken. The place I normally go to is known for their teriyaki so they do a tempura tofu teriyaki that is fire and they give you extra sauce if u ask. So i got a veggie teriyaki bowl. Maybe it was just the night I chose to come, xmas eve, they gave me 5 little containers of teriyaki sauce which I had to pour over my veggie bowl. Wasn't enough sauce by any means. If I come again, I know dnt come near the holiday time bc they wanted to go home, and i understand....by the price dsnt change so quality shldnt right? And dnt do teriyaki if i dnt want meat, just stick to sushi....

Biggest positive things here are the flavor of the food, amount of food for the money and with my combo bowl, it was made fresh to order. Not sure if they have an actual teriyaki sauce, but they use sort of a ginger sweet soy for their salad and a sauce their meats.

Not so positive things: parking is really hard (we went during dinner time) because of the small lot that's shared between a lot of businesses. Also, the dining area is quite small with probably 4 tables and then stool seating.
