This is a customer review of the Liberty Diamonds store located in the city of Irvine. I have not been paid or compensated for this review.

I found this store after I decided I would propose to my girlfriend. We had talked about getting engaged and window shopped for rings at several of the brand named stores. Of course, a cookie cutter ring would not do. She dreamed of a unique ring with a special meaning to her. So I had to find a store who could make that dream a reality within my budget and time constraints.

I did my research on Yelp and google reviews. I found some amazing reviews for numerous stores in the Orange County area which I didn’t pay much attention to. I looked at the poor reviews and the negative things people said about the various stores. This led me to Liberty Diamond because no one had anything bad to say about them. It appeared from their reviews that if I could dream it, then they could deliver it. Let me tell you that I am a hard one to impress and my expectations are always extremely high.

So I scheduled an appointment and met with Jeffrey Seymour at their store. I felt secure as I was buzzed in. I was greeted respectfully and welcomed into the store. It had a small business owner feel without the pressure to buy anything commonly associated with small and large jewelry stores. There was a display room and private offices for consultations. We spoke privately where he listened carefully to me.

He could have tried to sell me his old stock or his new stock of jewelry. But he didn’t. He listened to me tell him the dream my girlfriend had of her engagement ring. He looked at the photographs I gave him and listened to the specific features the engagement ring would have to contain. And then, I told him my budget and time constraints. He looked me in the eyes, shook my hand, and confidently told me that he would deliver. He gave me some recommendations based on his training and experience which were spot on to help design my girlfriend’s dream engagement ring. His expertise really came into play when we decided on the metal for the setting and the features of the engagement ring’s Diamonds. I received genuine one on one professional customer service as if I was a millionaire or a family member which I am neither. Listen, I had some serious reservations about designing an engagement ring from a bunch of photographs. I was going to pay a lot of money for jewelry I had not seen based on a handshake and a promise.

Seymour under promised and over delivered. He met our deadline, produced a one of a kind stunning engagement ring, and did it within my budget. After I proposed, we returned to purchase our wedding bands. Seymour’s professional and personalized service was consistent as before. He again under promised and over delivered on our wedding bands.

If you have read this far in my lengthy review, I hope that you have been able to key on the fact that my experience with Liberty Diamonds has been an exceptional one. I cannot speak highly enough of our experience here. I became interested in/started doing research on elongated cushion brilliants a couple of years ago because I felt like the shape suited me. I became frustrated because I talked to over 20 jewelers describing exactly what I was looking for (an elongated cushion with the brilliance of a round) but they kept falling short. I was shown so many diamonds that were lackluster and was even shown some radiants and told they were close enough. I also wanted a balance of quality and a fair price because I didn’t want my partner paying an arm and a leg. Elongated cushions vary so much, even within the same categories (brilliant, antique, etc.). I just wasn’t seeing the exact look I wanted to go for. I came across Liberty diamonds on TikTok and Troy was passionate about the same thing I was, cushion brilliants. He was so knowledgeable and it took him only 2 tries for him to send me my dream diamond. As soon as I saw it, I messaged the other potential jeweler that we would no longer be proceeding. Troy was so passionate, professional, and so kind! He was different from all the other jewelers we had spoken with and actually sent a video of the diamond in natural light, ABSOLUTELY blowing us away. It made our decision so easy. We received SO many compliments from friends and family and we couldn’t be happier. He literally allowed me to have my dream ring at an incredibly amazing price that felt good for both of us. I was a very naive customer and went to buy an engagement ring from a local jeweler who ran his own business.

I was quite disappointed to find out that when it was completed, my jeweler had forgotten to put a halo on, forgot about the two extra wedding bands, and also gave us a diamond that initially looked awesome, but days later we found a crack in the side and we were able to see there were large white inclusions in the middle of the stone.

I set off to Reddit to learn more and get help. Troy Lob responded to my desperate Reddit post. Not only did Troy give me amazing advice and enlightened me on several diamond nuances, but helped and guided me to a decision that was best for me, which ended up being a resolution from the original jeweler.

My Jeweler found some other diamonds that I was able to choose from, but I wouldn’t have been able to do any of this confidently without Troy’s guidance.

Good business people help anyone they can (a rare quality) even if the people they help don’t end up going through them for their needs initially. Due to rapport Troy has built with me I’d very confidently send anyone his way as his website and methodology are very transparent (another rare quality). From website to point of purchase a customer will know exactly what they’re getting, know of any natural imperfections in their stone (if applicable as it was in my case), and will be aware of the stone’s GIA certification.
