So I'm not super big on writing reviews, I Mean I believe in them, but I would really have to be moved to stop and write one, really because I'm always short on time. With that... maybe the 3rd or 4th time coming here, it was so awesome I had to write a review. I've been here many time since.. I literally have to set a limit on myself... just twice a week bc I can go everyday. I mean it's one of those things when lunch time comes around I want to go, and either get to, or have to tell myself, "you went yesterday!! Wait!! Tomorrow!!" So today is tomorrow and as improbable as it may seem, I was so delighted, I was moved again to write another review! Everyone that works here has been amazing. And with so many toppings I'm sure there's more combinations than grains of sand on the beach.. I've tried different combos every time, but last time ELLEN helped me. I was probably one of those annoying customers.. deciding as l go.. regardless she was so patient and let me sample some things and educated me of others.. it was great. I left super happy. I took my first bite and it was AMAZING! It's tricky... because of the huge variety of toppings, the first bite can be amazing while the mid or last bite.. good but not the same amazing. HOWEVER, this combo was! But that's not what moved me.. I came in today to get that bowl again! But eeerk.. I kinda forgot what I did.. Ellen said "I'll do it, and she went at it... while she was making it, I started nodding my head bc I was starting to remember.. what moved me was, how can I forget the best bowl I've had, and Ellen, whose probably made a hundred bowls since the last one.. just remembered. Besides the fresh fruits, plentiful beneficial ingredients, you get top service here.. I just had to write this... the staff here is what keeps me...
Read moreOn a casual Friday spent shopping, I stopped into this establishment because an Açaí bowl sounded amazing on such a hot summer day. Upon entering, the server: Renata L was busy making a shake for another customer. She didn’t acknowledge me in any way. But no problem! Not a big deal. Once she finished making the shake, she walks over to me to take my order. I order a medium sorbet bowl. She looks at me and says “That bowl is $13.50, is that going to be okay for you?”
Now, I am never one to read too much into people’s words; however, her tone and demeanor were extremely off putting, as if she was questioning if I could afford the açaí bowl. I smiled and said “yes that’s fine!”
She made the bowl (which was absolutely delicious) and I paid. Two other customers enter the store and she smiles warmly at them and offers them samples. Not at all the greeting that I received, but again, not a big deal. I leave the store but shortly after, I accidentally drop my spoon on the floor. I return into the store and she looks at me with an immediate look of disdain. I state “I’m so sorry I dropped my spoon on the floor, can I have another?” With no words, she walks over, grabs a spoon, and hands it to me. I say “Thank you!” To which she does not respond.
I am never one to assume someone’s interaction with me is based on my appearance. However, that certainly seems like the case in this scenario. Again, a very delicious bowl but left feeling really dissatisfied with the service I received...
Read moreI looove the Irvine Spectrum. My bf and I came here after dinner at Wahoo’s. We wanted something sweet but healthy.
Parking: There’s free parking lots and parking garages. Easy to find a spot on weekdays and difficult on the weekends.
Ambiance/Environment: They just recently opened, so it’s very clean inside. They do have a small space with no indoor or outdoor seating.
Service: There was only one worker at the time. We didn’t catch her name, but she was knowledgeable about menu. She also gave us samples to try some of the bases.
Bowls: They do not offer prebuilt bowls, so you’d completely build your own bowl. They offering basic toppings. I went with a peanut butter açaí base with vanilla almond chia, strawberries, bananas, cocoa nibs, & more peanut butter. She did mention the peanut butter in the açaí base was not mixed in the night before, so she didn’t manually mix it. It was still good refreshing. All the fruits looked fresh except the bananas. The bananas still tasted decent.
Pricing: The prices are a little over average for an açaí bowl. Overall, I still enjoyed my bowl and my bf...
