I have been shopping at Nick and Drews in Isanti. Today I found some good deals on things that I normally buy. However, during the checkout of my $35 order I had to correct the price that was rung up no less than 3 times. I watch closely because it has happened before and I didn't catch it until I got home. Too late to spend the $5+ in gas to make another trip. On a previous visit an entire bag got left (they bag your groceries) containing apples and cheese. I called and they said they would put it aside, but when I drove back they couldn't find it, and they just said sorry we can't find it and I was just out. Today the same thing happened. I purchased 3 cans of pie filling for $5 but only found one in my bag. Again, I called. I was told we don't see anything here. I was told eventually that I could come in and get 2 more cans…..another $5+ in gas… this has happened enough times that it is a problem that needs to be attended to as a business practice deficit. Pricing especially as groceries are already so high.
Responding to the owners comment: First of all, I was in a good mood when I was at your store. Your employees are always courteous and helpful as was your son yesterday. Trying to negate my experience by gaslighting and saying I was “snarky” is unprofessional and irrelevant. If the price is wrong….its wrong and its your responsibility as the proprietor. I was and am frustrated that I have to watch and correct pricing on every item that is rung through…. (you forgot to mention the pie that rang up as $3.99 but was supposed to be $1.99) The customer shouldn't have to do that. Experience with your store has taught me to be vigilant. When I called the store after I got home, I was frustrated and upset but appropriate with your employee. It was the situation not a personal attack. I will be in for my 2 cans of cherry pie filling, but then I am.done with your establishment. The good deals are not worth the energy of policing your...
Read moreI was very excited when I saw the prices here on some of our favorite foods but it never dawned on me that maybe that is because they are expired. I thought expired food was sent to the food shelves for free. I have never seen a grocer that would sell expired food until I came here. I got home after spending around $80 only to realize that over half the items I bought were expired. I didn't feel quite right after eating it and went to check the expiration date to my horror realizing almost all the items I bought were expired or had no expiration date on them at all which is even scarier. The granola bars tasted old too and I don't care how much anyone will say things are "okay" after expired, they don't taste right and there is a reason it is there. Some of the items I bought which were perishable didn't even have an expiration date and the oldest expiration date I saw on an item I purchased was July 2022! That was 4 months ago. Needless to say, I literally threw away $60 worth of food because I wasn't going to take the chance of getting sick. Expiration dates are on certain packages for food safety reasons and some people can get deathly sick from expired foods who are immunocompromised or immunosuppressed. The whole experience was very disappointing considering we shop at Whole Foods and eat mostly just fresh food. Even the expired granola bars tastes old and stale and they barely expired 2 weeks before I purchased them. I wish there was a sign upon entering the store that said Nick and Drew Discount foods that are Expired- Eat at your own risk. Then people really know what they are walking into instead of being blindsided...
Read moreThey are a small store with minimal stock. The prices are more than reasonable. It is a small town friendly atmosphere. My son talked at length with other customers. He learned he goes to high school with the cashier.
I unfortunately misplaced my debit card. It was too late in the day for me to transfer funds to another account. Without my knowledge the couple in line behind me paid for my $40 in groceries. I was ready to leave everything behind. I didn't have enough cash to pay. I was shocked. Had they said something I would have declined. By the time I realized what happened it was done. They say it happens a lot there. Please don't try to take advantage. ...
