The man that met us at the gazebo waiting for the van to the bay was nice, but they didn't even have us on the list. We were there at 8:25pm, they filled the van completely so we had to wait another 45min. Frustrated cuz we have to get up early tomorrow. The actual time on the bay was about 30 min, not long at all. At least they honored the tour, and it was just m6my group. Be prepared, so muddy, and I didn't know just how muddy it was til i lost flip-flops. They weren't glass bottom like the other groups also. Our feet were muddy and itchy, and they shuttled us back to the meeting spot. Luckily, we ended up being able to wash our feet. I've done bio tours before, and it was never muddy like that, so it was new to me for this location. Our guide was nice and educated for about min. I listened to another guide from another group that pointed out and explained the entire constellation, and that knowledge was spectacular. It was pretty cool but more underwhelming. I'm glad we went, but I was not particularly impressed. Not sure if it was Viator's fault or the tours for not having us on the original list.

The bio bay itself is awesome, so no matter who you go with, you'll hopefully have a mesmerizing experience once you're out in the bay, paddling your kayak and staring at the luminescent trails behind your paddle.

I can see why some people give these guys bad reviews though. They were running like an hour or so behind, and then there were people signed up, apparently, but driver didn't know about them. Driver doesn't speak much English, so he has to keep calling dispatcher and then handing the phone over to the tourists so they can try to work things out with the dispatcher. In this particular case they ended up with a third shift for the night, to accommodate these other tourists.

Most of the other outfits apparently have weight limits for the kayaks. Not so here. I'm pretty big and heavy and they put me in a kayak with my wife and daughter. My leg was pinned in pretty well on one side, and on the other side cocked up above the kayak, causing us to ride low in the water, but also feel a little top-heavy. I'm a fairly experienced canoer and have ridden kayaks a few times, but was still a little anxious the whole time about our stability, and the growing pain in my leg.

I was also surprised that our instruction beforehand basically amounted to remembering our kayak number and agreeing to holler back loudly YES when the leader would call out our number in the dark. No mention of how to paddle a kayak. I guess they figure everybody knows that by now, or else it's pretty obvious and easy to figure out. There were a few people bumbling around and running into other kayaks, but it's not clear if instructions would have helped them.

I don't know why people would give lower reviews for the condition of the access road. Yes, it is rough and bumpy, but it's not that terribly long, and all the outfitters must drive through it. Honestly I feel the van that we were in was probably a lot more comfortable than the old school buses that the other...

I agree with the previous post - this tour is underrated! We had a great experience as well!

It was an absolutely INCREDIBLE experience that everyone should do! The pictures don't really do anything - you must see it in person. We signed up for the 7pm tour and we were lucky to have picked a perfect night! They picked us up on time across from the Tradewinds and yes the road was bumpy getting to the bay and the driver was driving slowly. We had a great time and great guide who was very knowledgeable! Thank you so much for the experience! :) Tips: Wear water shoes if you are the not the type to be barefoot. You do walk in mud to get in the kayak. Your feet will be rinsed off before getting back in the van (if you wear flip flops, like we did, they will keep it in a bin for you.) Leave your phone at your hotel or in your bag - I tried to take photos and videos but you can't really capture anything. you can get wet so wear something that dries off easily Although it is called mosquito bay, there were no mosquitoes when we went so you'll be safe if you're a mosquito magnet like me (There was just enough wind to keep them away so I lucked out but I still brought bug spray just in case!) Enjoy the...

Honestly.. I was VERY disappointed with our experience. To start, they were almost 20 mins late to picking our group up. As soon as we finally made it into the bay, they gave us a really poor explanation of the bioluminescence then told us we had 15 mins to kayak around! I asked her why it was so short and she explained it was due to covid (which is fine) but at least be transparent about this and don’t wait until we are in the water to tell us. They messaged us earlier in the day to rsvp which would have been a great opportunity to let us know or change the time we meet up so we can get our moneys worth. Worst part is she was taking another group out for a tour as we were leaving!! It seemed all they were concerned about was getting paid and not realizing we spent money to do this. Basically spent $115 between my girlfriends and I to drive/ wait for 45 mins and kayak for 15. Honestly I wish we would get haof a refund because the 15 minutes on the water wasn’t worth it at all.

And I get it with covid restrictions but this was absolutely ridiculous having 15 minutes on the water and not even trying to work with us to get an actually experience. I do NOT recommend...
