This salon is a beautiful place. The people are kind and friendly. I cannot speak for all of them but I did have a not so great experience with Ivey. I bet she’s very skilled and hardworking however my experience is valid. I’m sure because I was a new client and she wasn’t used to my hair that that’s why it turned out so poorly. However, I would like to speak about my experience to make sure no one ever feels like how I felt. I asked for the picture of me wearing a mask or something similar the other pictures are the ones with what she did. I showed around 3 different pictures and also made her aware that I didn’t want a color that clashed with my dark features. She over teased my hair and the knots were extremely painful to brush out. When I have a bad experience I usually keep it to myself and just deal with it, but it was so different than what I asked for that I was a bit in shock. My hair is very long, so I understand if maybe she got really tired, but I walked out ready to cry after coming here needing a much needed break. I will provide pictures below of how my hair turned out. I paid 350 + tip. She said she would stay in my budget and almost charged me 400$ even though I was reassured she would make it work with what I could pay. The mistake was mostly the top of my head which she was willing to do for me, but I couldn’t wait bc of how awful I was feeling. I fixed it on my own and still felt horrible when I looked in the mirror. Ended up dying it back to my original color. I did ask for money back (was not expecting a full refund at all because she worked really hard and did a great job with my haircut) I was expecting at least a little bit back but I understood. So I’m here to say please just make sure you make it EXTRA clear with the color you all want. I also asked her how my hair might turn out and she reassured me it would be like the pictures I showed her. It was not. I recommend Ivey for a haircut because she did try and she did her best. The salon was nice and staff seemed welcoming. Things were going well, and I thought there was good communication on what I wanted with verbal explanation as well as photos showing similar length, thickness, etc to my hair of the cut I wanted. I thought I scheduled for a shampoo, cut, and style but somehow it ended up being scheduled as just a cut. No biggie because I prefer my own products anyways, and it saved me a bit of money. Everything was good until I realized that I wasn't getting the cut I asked for, but the stylist was thinning my hair. Normally this wouldn't be an issue, but I have naturally curly/deep wavy hair. As soon as I realized what was going on, it took everything in me to not burst into tears. I said absolutely nothing about wanting my hair thinned, and had I known, I would have declined. I wanted long layers with a tapered front. Thinning curly/wavy hair is not the same as thinning straight hair. It causes poofy, frizzy, stubble like texture. My hair is super thick and already has texture, so I'm not sure what was the thought process for thinning it. Maybe that's how she was taught to blend layers. Needless to say, I don't think I can recommend curly or wavy people to this salon. The girl was super nice, and I just couldn't have a complete meltdown right there. I moved to West Tennessee about a year ago and was terrified at the thought of finding a hairdresser to suit me and my needs. After a LONG search Bravo appeared and I felt like my needs could be met so I contacted the salon. When I spoke to the stylist and explained being new to the area and what my needs were she immediately gave me the owner/stylist’s number. I made a connection with her and scheduled an appointment. My experience with Dawn has been nothing short of amazing! Her knowledge and skill sets are unmatched but her mannerisms and the way she welcomed me into her space and embraced me as one of her own is something I will always remember. She singlehandely leads an entourage of amazing ladies in making pretty… beautiful. I enjoy my time spent at Bravo with my new friends…. And I treasure the friendship I gained in Dawn through my hair care needs….. oh yea… my hair is pretty amazing too!😘 If you’ve not been… what are you waiting for?...
