Walthall Lofts — Local services in Jackson

It started off as such a wonderful interaction and my family was fully prepared to move here but the leasing agents and upper management do not stick to their word. We loved the place but there were several features advertised online about the building that were incomplete. We negotiated on leasing terms and they promised to follow up but never did. I called and even went up there twice and still never received a final answer. We loved the place so much we were willing to take a chance on moving in and just trust that the promised advertised features would be implemented later. We were literally willing to overpay just to experience living here. However, they never followed up to to give us the opportunity. Unfortunately, It became very clear that my residency was not wanted there. On my final attempt to get answers, the leasing agent was talking to me as she completely ignored two people standing at the door waiting to get in. We were literally right in front of the glass and she talked to me at length as if they weren’t standing right outside the door in the sun. That alone told me everything else I needed to know. They don’t seem to respect future tenants at all. It makes you wonder if that behavior has already carried over into signed tenants as well. I would stay far away from this place. Do not recommend. It is with pleasure that I share the wonderful experience my husband and I have had here at Walthall Lofts. Although we have a home 10 min away in Terry, MS. and initially rented a studio for office space and staycations - we find ourselves enjoying the amenities here at Walthall Lofts and downtown Jackson most nights than not. My husband and I signed our first lease here in 2020 when the property first opened its doors to the public. Since then, we have witnessed staff come and go. Nevertheless, as with any new establishment or business in general, we know that change, growth, rebranding, and rebuilding is necessary for the success and sustainability of the company. Fortunately, each staff member from the owners down to our sweet cleaning lady - have all treated us with kindness and respect. Not to mention, the staff host biweekly events and treats for the residents as a way to show their appreciation for us choosing to make Walthall our home. I don’t even know where to start with this place but to put it simply, I would recommend living anywhere but here. You’re paying an extremely high price for basically no amenities, an awful area, and even worse office staff. Expect most emails you send to them to be ignored for at least a week or altogether. As previous reviews have mentioned, this place has had a ton of turnover since the beginning of the year and there was a ton of miscommunication between what the old management promised and what the new management will honor. I agreed to pay a ridiculously high amount of rent based on the amenities I was promised and after 13 months of living there I can safely say not a single one of those amenities exist other than the pool and $85 a month parking garage.
