Although I didn’t have the chance to explore the interior of the Old Capitol Museum, just walking around the exterior was a memorable experience in itself. The architecture is absolutely stunning — classic Greek Revival style with grand columns, a copper dome, and stately proportions that reflect the proud Dixieland character of the Old South.
You can truly feel the weight of history standing in front of this building. As Mississippi’s former state capitol from 1839 to 1903, it has witnessed some of the state’s most defining moments. The Southern themes, pride, and historical context are woven into its very foundation.

I enjoyed this museum. It is well taken care for and a lot of attention goes in the exhibitions. Of you're into (American) politics, history or you're a local from the state, it's a must see. I'm Dutch but still found it interesting as I got to learn about the above topics.
